"Possibly," thinks Fox.

:wow:

Obama's Wikipedia Page Distances President From Wright and Ayers

What a tangled Web Wikipedia users can weave.

Critics noted over the weekend that President Obama's page on the free online encyclopedia had been edited to remove any mention of his links to former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers, and to allow only a brief citation of his connection to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright — though pages for Ayers and Wright are heavily peppered with references to the president, including subsections on both pages that detail their past affiliations with him.

The lone mention of Wright on Obama's page appears in a section on his family and personal life; it says the president left Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ in May 2008 after "controversial statements made by Rev. Jeremiah Wright became public," citing an Associated Press article.

4. O'Reilly sued Andrea Mackris so, yes, his lawsuit is mentioned in his bio
Edited on Mon Mar-09-09 10:43 PM by Jim Lane
O'Reilly sued Mackris shortly before she filed a formal sex-discrimination complaint against him. The dispute was settled for an undisclosed payment by BillO. I'd say that litigation with a former employee is objectively more important than the Wright controversy. You can read the Wikipedia discussion of the whole mess -- a discussion that, to my mind, follows Wikipedia's stated principle of neutrality -- in of the O'Reilly bio.

Furthermore, as the Fox article notes (near the bottom) in quoting a Wikipedia spokesperson, there's a goal of keeping articles to a reasonable length. There's more to write about the President of the United States than there is about a newscaster (however illustrious the latter may be). That's why something that might be included in a newscaster's article might be spun off to a "daughter" article for a public official. For example, both the Bush and Kerry bios have cursory treatments of the campaign disputes concerning the subjects Vietnam-era military service, because the subject is covered in detail in articles about those specific topics (, ).
