Bob Herbert of the NY Times proves once again why he is one of the best unsung columnists around.

His column today perfectly sums up what happened over the last 30 years. It's a broad brush -- and nothing new -- but it's a perfect summary of what happened and where we should go from here.

It's short and definitely worth reading.
