Perspective - Obama Has Been President For Less Than 60 Days!
I know many of us demand instant gratification. We want Obama to fix everything, and now even "liberal" economists like Paul Krugman have accused the President of "dithering" despite a whirlwind of activity on education, healthcare, the stimulus, the mortgage plan, secret letter to Russia, outreach to Syria, draw down from Iraq, etc. Heck, the Wall Street Journal has already announced the Obama Presidency has prolonged the recession!

Well, despite the strange space time continuum in which the 24/7 media exists, we should keep in mind that Obama has only been President for less than 60 days.

4. "Instant gratification"--that sounds a bit DUish.
There have been many crititcal here of Obama because he has remedied or fixed their pet concern. It seems that many at DU want what they want and they want it NOW--no excuses.

7. Compare Dubya Who Got A 60+ Percent Approval Rating For Doing Squat
Edited on Tue Mar-10-09 01:42 PM by Median Democrat
I am sure by April the media talking point will be that Obama's approval ratings are less than Bush's at a similar juncture in their Presidency even though Bush did not do much of anything, except for push for the huge taxcut for the rich, which helped lead to the present day deficit.

Continued work on tax-cut plan
On domestic issues, Bush refused to commit to specific figures in the ongoing negotiations with Congress over tax cuts and the budget.

The House has a approved a $1.6 trillion tax cut over years. The Senate measure was $1.2 trillion.

In a separate interview Wednesday with The Associated Press, Bush said he was ready to compromise with Congress on his tax-cut plan. He acknowledged that a final tax-cut plan would be less than $1.6 trillion, but added that it should be greater than $1.2 trillion.

"My answer is, let's get as much as possible for the American people," Bush said in the CNN interview.

Bush also acknowledged rising gasoline prices and said his administration would take steps to prevent price-gouging. But he said the long-term solution was an energy policy that would boost domestic oil and gas supplies while promoting conservation.

On the question of discretionary spending, which Bush wants to limit to 4 percent growth, the president called the Senate's proposed cap of 8 percent "just not acceptable." Asked if he would accept 6 percent, he said, "I am keeping all options open."

11. Krugman
He's just being a squeaky wheel so he can get greased.

Nonetheless, it's the congress that has real power and Kruggie needs to go squeaky on them if he really wants to help.

12. Speaking of 24/7...
It seems to me that he's been going at a manic pace...Nobody can keep up the schedule he's been going at! I heard there has been some concern that he's not getting enough sleep.

Has a President ever had a mental breakdown? (Maybe Nixon?)
