MSNBC First 100 Days Compared - Obama "Dithering"? Bush Was Comatose By Comparison
Edited on Tue Mar-10-09 07:09 PM by Median Democrat
Here is an interactive chart on MSNBC. Of course, to color opinion, they add a graphic for the DOW to suggest that the President has direct control of the DOW in his first 100 days. Whatever. Anyways, looking at the chart, Obama has accomplished far more in his first 60 days than most Presidents have accomplished in their first 100 days. Indeed, we still have 30 days to go. Nonetheless, the mainstream media is in full attack mode attacking the Obama Presidency with even critics on the left attacking the Obama Presidency as ineffective.

Obama is spending too much/too little. Obama is dithering/trying to accomplish too much. Obama is ignore (insert pet issue) while spending far too much time on (insert someone else's priorities). Obama is a socialist/corporate apologist. Obama is giving away billions of taxpayer dollars to underserving homeowners/banks.

The fact of the matter is that I think that the vast majority of liberals are extremely happy with Obama's Presidency. However, just like the mysterious PUMAs like the infamous Lady Rothschild, all you have to do is criticize Obama, and you will get a lot of free media coverage while supportive liberals are largely ignored.

Finally, in looking at this chart, I would note that it leaves out a lot of stuff such as Obama's healthcare summit, as well as the aggressive steps at re-starting diplomacy such as appointing high level envoys to focus on problem areas abroad. In sharp contrast, Bush tried to ignore foreign policy issues until 9/11 occurred.

2. Also Misleading - Unemployment Soared and The DOW Plummeted On Tail End Of Reagan's First Term
Comparing the DOW with the first 100 days is misleading, because the DOW is still reflecting the economic effects of the prior President in those early days. However, after the passage of two years, the President owns the economy. This fact is conveniently ignored by Republicans in discussing Saint Ronny who suffered from double digit unemployment and a sagging DOW towards the end of his first term.

3. According to their stupid blue dots, Obama has gotten more done in his first 50 days...
...than ANY of the rest - yet he's "dithering"?

Jeebus H. Frapping Keeeerist on a STICK!

If he did MORE than he'd be "doing too much" - if he did less he'd be "not doing enough"

BOTTOM LINE:

It doesn't matter WHAT he does or HOW he does it or HOW MUCH he does or HOW MUCH he DOESN'T DO - they are going to ram him into the dirt for it - regardless.

Because - WHO OWNS THE LAME$TREAM MEDIA? The corprats and their Republican taskmasters, that's who. It'll be the same old song and dance from those bastards no matter WHAT Obama does.

Pffft!

4. I have just had some fun with a puma bigot.
Not quite as racist as some of the other bigots, but still of the screw America, I did not get my candidate type. The dirty bigot blogs under the name of dakinkat. Dakinkat does however link to the far right sites such as the now NeoNazi TexasDarlin and the hard right NoQuarter. Dakinkat is supposedly the PUMA "economist".

The students of the bigot have quite a bit to say; not much of it nice.

With regard to Liberal critics of Obama, I doubt the networks will air them. The stimulus plan is too small, a $2 trillion drop in demand replaced with a $800 billion programme. However so be it, that is not the agenda the news networks are on. They are listening to the do nothing Rethugs that simply want to find ways of further destroying the World economy.

The Tax cuts of 2001 were the biggest thing he had to deal with. The rest was fluff: looking more organized and disciplined than Clinton, etc.

He has appointed an ideologically conservative cabinet, looks set to secure a vast tax cut and is pushing ahead with his education reforms and faith-based initiatives.

For someone who it was believed had minimal interest in the world outside the United States, President Bush has already spurned the international effort to reduce global warming, called off talks with North Korea about its missiles, bombed Iraq and expelled 50 Russian spies.

7. Yet, The Media Spins Obama's Approval Ratings As A Simple Honeymoon
Worse, you have Fineman taking a long list of accomplishments, then asking is that all? It is absolutely amazing. Has the media gone insane? Or, are the going out of there way to stop Obama's momentum, because by any sane and objective measure, Obama has accomplished an incredible amount in his first 50 days.

11. I noticed something interesting while watching MSNBC today.
The segment they do called "The First 100 Days" is sponsored by Exxon.
Interesting.... I wonder how much influence they have over the content.

13. Is The Current RW Talking Point - Where's The Change? Or, Too Much Change?
Edited on Wed Mar-11-09 03:02 PM by Median Democrat
I saw John McCain giving a speech demanding to know where was the change, and the RNC website was blaring that Obama accomplished nothing in his first 50 days.

THEN, I see the mainstream media playing the RW talking point that Obama is trying to do too much, and that he should just focus on a few things.

PLEASE MAINSTREAM MEDIA! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! FIND A COHERENT REASON FOR WHY I SHOULD HATE PRESIDENT OBAMA! I AM GETTING SO CONFUSED!
