Perhaps we can move into 1st place when he rejects the stimulus money.

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolina's unemployment rate is the second highest in the nation.

The state Employment Security Commission reports the jobless rate soared to 10.4 percent in January. That's the highest in nearly 26 years.

The U.S. Labor Department says only Michigan had a higher rate in January at 11.6 percent.

The number of people without jobs in South Carolina climbed to a record high of nearly 228,000 in January.

1. I want a right winger to explain why if South Carolina is such a model
of how union busting, anti-poor, pro-business policies work so well, how is their unemployment so high?

2. Did you see that Sanford is demanding permission from Obama to use the state stimulus money to pay
down the state debt?

8. It's the 'liberal spending' in DC's fault of course!
Only a 'liberal' would say that not taking money for increased unemployment benefits is hurting the poor even more! :sarcasm:

It's just the opposite! 'Liberal' unemployment benefits are encouraging people to slack off at work, and not put in 20 hours overtime so that they won't be laid off in this economy. Why work hard to avoid getting laid off when you can get unemployment benefits far inferior to the pay & benefits of your old job! Why if we got rid of unemployment benefits all together then we wouldn't have this bad economy in the first place! :sarcasm:

(yes I'm being sarcastic in case you didn't notice)

5. High School drop out is about 50%
So, tell me, why in the hell would anybody listen to him or those creatures from SC in Congress. As if we are all dying to know their "secret to success". Maybe they should just shut up, sit down, and get out of the way of progress. I have the feeling the politicians in that state just feed off of the poor, uneducated. Pathetic slime.

7. I wish we could get a firey, outspoken Dem who'd call the repukes on their bs here.
Real straight talk - someone would wake up the complacent non-voters and shock the repub sheep out of their daze. This issue should cost the repubs dearly here. And could, I believe, if we could come up with a candidate who is unafraid to speak the truth, and be loud about it.

I'm still lucky enough to have a job, but it is my no means assured. Don't know if I'm working that day or not. If not, I'll try to make the drive up from Sville.

Edited to ask about link other than facebook. I don't have an acct. I'm sure many who might be interested don't. Any website you can point me to about this event?
