With these testing times, will President Obama keep his promise to help achieve the MDGs?
Nine years ago, the Millennium Development Goals were signed pledging various development targets. Afterwards, the US increased aid but more for the fight against terrorism and hardly for development. Iraq and Afghanistan pulled away millions of aid and aid was left to the defense department and the new neo-liberal organisation, the MCC.

Six years to the MDGs, and with the current downturn, will President Obama deliver his campaign promise of reducing world poverty?
