Who is this Michelle Bernard
on "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue"???

What kind of a idiot is she, blithering about how Geithner's strategies "haven't worked"?

Where was she while Chimpy Fucknuts was nursing this mess along?

I am annoyed by this woman, and even if I'm no fan of Geithner, give the guy a chance to do something, for heaven's sake.

These rightwingnuts are always standing in line, aren't they, in the chance they might get in on the gangbang.

1. She describes herself as "center right" and belongs to some women's group, but
yesterday Matthews got her to admit she voted for Obama.

33. In 1975, nobody would admit having voted for Nixon in 1972: some of them
must have, but they were keeping mum

The lady takes money from rightwing wackos like Scaife, and her "independent" organization is packed with rightwing wackos like Lynn Cheney

She didn't vote for Obama: she's just another extremist pretending to be in the political center

Edited on Thu Mar-12-09 05:59 PM by zulchzulu
It's fucking 50 days and Obama hasn't solved the banking industry problem... and oh yeah, Geitner hasn't given a succinct plan on the multi-trillion dollar industry and basically just given the banking industry barrels and barrels of cash... that's what Wall Street wants! Whaaaa!!!! Chris Kofinis said it's more than "ordering a pizza".

Who is she? Well...

Bernard is President of the deceptively-named Independent Women's Forum, a thinktank that is neither "Independent" (Prominent members include Kate O'Beirne, Nancy Pfotenhauer, Lynne Cheney and the Podhoretz boys' wife and mother, Midge Decter. Funding comes from organizations like the Castle Rock Foundation and the Scaife Foundation.

http://crooksandliars.com/nicole-belle/hardball-michelle-bernard-doesnt-thin

The Castle Rock Foundation is basically an offshoot of Adolph Coors (http://www.mediatransparency.org/funderprofile.php?funderID=14) and the Scaife Foundation is the baby of Richard Mellon Scaife. Neocon fueled nonsense for your viewing pleasure... :puke:

Yeah, "right of center," my ass. Those names are right out of Satan's address book. Rightwingnut loonies, and that's why her friggin' querulous remarks just bit my ass.

She is exactly what I thought she was.

Although, as noted in this thread, she admitted to voting for Obama.

What do I do now? Hate her or not?

37. Here's the complete C&L quote.
(You only copied the first half of the first sentence; the whole paragraph is relevant.)

The first question is easier to answer. Sound independent to you?) nor particularly interested in furthering the welfare of women. In fact, some of their declared stances are against gender equality, like Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act. A curious case of self-loathing that must be given an inordinate amount of airtime, don't you think?

10. I get the feeling she is a coward
In her appearances on Hardball, she talks like a moderate, probably because she isn't willing to stand up to Matthews' questioning of her position. But on occasion, because she has to keep the money flowing from her Right-wing scum funders at the Independent Women's Forum, she'll very very carefully bring out a Right-wing position.

she doen't need the government to speak or represent her on women's issues. She can argue her own fate reg health benefits, retirements, pay and leave of absence herself.

that her so called "independent women's forum" is nothing but independent. I can't believe this woman s invited to every single show to represent something she is not. Women would be watching this woman thinking Michelle does not have an agenda when she is filled with agendas.....

She is the head of a women's group and is now an "independent"; it became a liability to associate herself with the Republican Party.

She still spouts the ideology.

18. Pyookzie! Here's Michelle onTweety, talking Katrina:

Michelle Bernard: Surprisingly, I'm going to come to Bobby Jindal's defense on this point ... I think that if you can look at it from that perspective what he was saying, as I saw it, as a black person watching all those black people drown during Hurricane Katrina, is that you better take personal responsibility and take care of yourself because if you're going to wait for the government to do it you could die ...
Joan Walsh: The government let black people drown Michelle, I mean come on.
Michelle Bernard: I just said that. I watched it in horror. It's why I don't trust government ...

The absolute insanity that is Michelle Bernard

30. I remember that, and a sorry display it was for Bernard.
What the hell would the libertarian solution have been for New Orleans? For everyone to build a mini-ark in the backyard? Jesus H. Something-or-other! Give her credit for not supporting another four years of neocon warmongering, but that's about all I can say for her.

Wednesday, August 06, 2008

... It's bad enough to let anybody spout off on TV identified only by the Independent Women's Forum. Nobody knows what that is ... But she really doesn't sound all that independent, and the reason for that is she worked for Bush-Cheney '00 and at one of the most high profile and most Republican law firms in D.C. http://straightflushing.blogspot.com/2008/08/better-labeling-please.html

31. Her post-election comments read like a laundry list of Republican talkling points:

... Senator McCain decided to run in an election stacked against any Republican ... Still, the general election was a long-shot for any Republican. Senator Obama was a media darling and political phenomenon. The GOP was outgunned financially ... But Senator McCain .. he surprised everyone by knocking on our so-called political glass ceiling by choosing Governor Sarah Palin ... He should take up the cudgels against any Democratic attempt to foment class war ...

And considering her views and her funding, it seems unlikely she ever actually supported any Democrat:

Hardball: Michelle Bernard Doesn't Think Women Should Worry Their Pretty Little Heads About Pay Equality
By Nicole Belle Sunday Feb 01, 2009 12:00pm

Where did Michelle Bernard come from, and why on earth would anyone ask her opinion on the Lilly Ledbetter Act, which President Obama signed into law last week?

The first question is easier to answer. Sound independent to you?) nor particularly interested in furthering the welfare of women. In fact, some of their declared stances are against gender equality, like Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act ...

Naturally, Bernard and the IWF do not support the Ledbetter Act ...

Is the head of the organization that was founded during the Anita Hill Clarence Thomas hearing to show that there was one black woman who supported uncle thomas. She is the Independence Women's (whatever it is called) equivalent of Michael steele. Get a black woman to attack another black woman. Get a black man to attack another black man, so that we will not look as racist.

She is more right to center, than center right.

Her saving grace is that she voted for Obama and she supported him during the election, now its time for her to get back to work.
