The banks are not pillars of responsiblity
Despite remaining profitable (taking TARP money and throwing parties), Northern Trust announced in December it would cut 4 percent of its staff, or about 450 jobs.

Then there is "Citigroup, perhaps the biggest public assistance recipient in history ($50 billion or so and counting)" fighting the EFCA.

AIG, after receiving bailout, spending $200,000 on hotel rooms and $23,000 on spa services for 10 employees

People need to stop defend these greedy jerks. These banks don't have low-level employees or taxpayers interests at heart.

1. Nationalize the banks.
Really. It is time.

2. No need. Just break up the failed ones and sell off the bits to healthy banks.
The healthy banks have demonstrated that they know what they're doing.

7. No. Some of the "healthy" banks took our money. See post #6

3. Which banks? Not my small, local, independent bank.
Like hell you will!

Just looking at the parking lots of banks
shows you how irresponsible and sick those old white men are that run them. You see a lot of disgustingly expensive cars.

5. Hey! Not all of those cars are bank employees'!
Plenty of bank customers have decent cars. That doesn't make them "sick old while men"...

6. JPMorgan Chase after taking millions of TARP from us is outsourcing 25% of their jobs to India.
