Biden's mother hospitalized

By CAROL E. LEE

Vice President Joe Biden's mother was hospitalized at the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday after suffering a fall, a spokeswoman for the vice president said.

"She is currently receiving treatment and is in good spirits," spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander said in a statement Sunday evening.

Biden's mother, Catherine Eugenia Finnegan Biden - better known as Jean - is 92 years old and lives in Delaware. She had lived with Biden and his wife, Jill, before they moved to Washington in January.

Biden has often credited his mother as a strong, supportive force throughout his life.

"Mom, I love ya!" he said during his speech at the Democratic National Convention in August, before telling the story about how when he stuttered as a young boy, "she lovingly would look at me and tell me 'Joey, it's because you're so bright you can't get the thoughts out quickly enough.'"

6. Falls for very senior women are seriously not good. All my older lady friends that have fallen...
well, somehow it just seems to do something. Not even a matter of broken bones.

Sending good vibes

8. Mama Biden and Mrs. Robinson (Michelle's Mom)
are America's grandmothers. Bless her and I hope she gets well soon.

12. I'm surprised that he didn't bring her to DC
Although it can be hard for older people to change locations. Especially if they have good friends at home.

15. May she make a speedy recovery.
I liked all the moms of the candidates; they were spunky, gutsy and had a sense of humor.

Here's to Mrs. Biden, Mrs. Rodham and Mrs. McCain!!!!

:applause:

Ironically, the youngest candidate didn't have his mom anymore.

:-(
