The AIG questions were relentless but Gibbs soldiered on. And then there was the question about Cheney and Gibbs came back but calmly. The room broke up.

stuff they're talking about. As much as I HATE these BAILOUTS, if AIG goes down, it takes down a SHIT load of this country AND others!!

I'll be wiped out even though my IRA isn't all that large. I so afraid of what is going to happen that I just want to take the little I have out RIGHT now, so at least I have something. Without it, I don't have anything for a "rainy day!"

Why doesn't AIG UNDERSTAND they need to STOP some of their shit, tell employees "suck it up" and get on with doing something GOOD for once! And yes, I know the 7 big CEO'S aren't taking bonuses and taking a salary of $1 a year... so THEY say. How would we know?

Still using the excuse, and this is the excuse the Administration is using too, that these bonuses were promised "before" the TARP took affect, just doesn't sit well with me and ALMOST EVERYONE else if you hear people talking.

11. To clarify: The statement about Cheney was not related to AIG

There was an exhaustive questioning about AIG with many follow ups by more than one journalist. And rightfully so.

Then someone asked about Cheney's damning assertion about our nation's safety. I'm giving Gibbs's response to that question a lot of thought. Cheney's assertion was ridiculous. So the response by Gibbs pulled the rug out from under what credibility Cheney thinks he has. It put things in perspective.

Right now as I type, Gibbs has returned to that issue since someone else has asked about our safety. His response is now more thorough giving examples of how Obama sees his responsibility.
