My LTTE on the stimulus package/government spending gets printed
What do you think? I even push Reagan back into their faces with Reagan raising taxes.

ONLY THING THAT WORKS

In response to “PROVEN TRUE:” What has been proven true is that when Republicans tried their laissez-faire free market economics, it turned a deep recession into the Great Depression. When Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton raised taxes, the economy took off and everybody was better for it. When FDR put people back to work and stabilized the banking system, the economy turned around almost immediately. It was only when FDR again scaled back government spending in 1937 and 1938 did the economy go back into the tank. In fact, time and again, it has been government taxing and spending that has gotten America out of both recessions and depressions. Even somebody as far right as Mike Huckabee admits that each billion spent on infrastructure generates nearly 20,000 jobs, which is far more than any corporation can claim.

3. Hey Jeff how are your responses from the newspaper?
We had a few a-holes here in New Haven (the usual suspects) railing against Obama and the Dems but they were more than drowned out by spates of letters from progressives, and damned good ones too.

The good is driving out the bad. Bless you and your relentless LTTE!

7. The Courant has been okay
probably more anti-Obama letters, but I've seen some good Democratic ones as well.

The paper I write to is good because it's free, has a wide circulation and is anonymous.
