At this point I should mention that the Irish Prime Minister, who is from the county of Offaly, has been given two nicknames back home.....Biffo (Big Ignorant Fucker from Offaly) and Buffalo (Big Ugly Fucker from Laois Offaly). And some unkind folk have referred to his meeting with the President as the clash of Beauty and the Beast.

1. BeeeUtiful! Our First Lady looks smashing in those jewel tones...
...royal blue, emerald green, deep ruby. I love it when they coordinate their colors together. It's adorable - sorry, but it is!

Edited on Tue Mar-17-09 09:11 PM by Cronus Protagonist
The IRA will never get any quarter from me, and I've always been a supporter of the UK getting out of Ireland. I've always said we should get the hell out and let them have the wind, rain and the potatos that they love more than the lives of children.

are. if the future is ever going to be good we have to SPEAK to each other. Talk is a lot better than guns and in the end the killers will fail.

rv, whose family is from Omagh, Tyrone, NI and who wouldn't want for Ireland what I wouldn't stand for ten seconds in my own country: endless sectarian war.

Edited on Wed Mar-18-09 12:40 PM by charlie and algernon
She's with a loyalist (Peter Robinson) and Sinn Fein (Gerry Adams). I spent a week in Northern Ireland and colors are a BIG deal. Notice Robinson has not a speck of greeen on him. So she wears a "neutral" dress with a small green pin, pleasing everyone. Exactly what the Secretary of State should do.

37. That pin looks like a shamrock.
I was going to complain about the lack of other green, like a scarf or a blouse, but you're right. Under the circumstances, she hit the sweet spot between the orange and the green.

Perhaps the protocol office is getting its act together after the Russian goof.

32. Love the pics.....and.... my four comments, FWIW:
1. Yes, hate to say it, but your PM is lacking in the looks department.

2. I think every politician ( including our President) and newscaster went out and bought the same tie for yesterday! I see, though, that our VP trumped the trend!

3. With that said, I'm glad to see the First Lady went for a darker, forest green tone!!

4. Secretary Clinton, what they hey?!?!? Ireland loved you and your husband, so, where's the green??? The pin's nice, though....
