Was this a Freudian slip by * ?
Bush: "I'm going to put people in my place, so when the history of this administration is written at least there's an authoritarian voice saying exactly what happened."

Why do we need an authoritarian voice???
:wtf:

1. I'm guessing that it's just another example of his
incredibly poor command of the English language. He probably meant "authoritative" meaning "knowledgeable." Just another *ism.

3. Reminds me of this classic
"It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of -- and the allegations -- by people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble -- that means not tell the truth."

He'd just learned a new word, but he got it wrong!

4. I remember that one! He's such an illiterate, unintelligible
hack. Story of his life... "he got it wrong." Too bad he dragged the rest of us along for the ride.

6. And what was really pathetic
is he actually talked down to people, as if he thought the rest of the world was as ignorant as he was! I figure that was probably how Laura spoke to him.

2. My guess
Everyone knows how small his vocabulary is. My guess is that the word "authoritarian" was used in cabinet meetings, talks with Cheney, etc. and he adopted the word, not really understanding it.
This is similar to his use of the phrase, "catapult the propaganda." He was just repeating something he had heard without fully understanding it.
