Woo Hoo for me I guess.. It has been 8 weeks since President Obama took office, and there have been around 8 melt downs in this "Democratic" support area.

God makes you wonder what is happening in other chat sites not so strongly aligned to the Democratic ideal..

And we want the whole story before we decide that there are "fleas on the President" ~AHEM~

Just saying, we might want to let the news cycle through a day or two, till the truth gets out, because having a Glen Beck moment with half the story out there, just not good for anyone's blood pressure.

From the title, I understand that this forum is meant for discussion. Yet, we have ninja postings of various articles with no actual discussion that spawns a flame war. As a person who posts, it is annoying to click on such an OP, and realize that it is just some article with a one sentence comment at best.

All I am saying is that there needs to be some posting etiquette. At best, such posts display poor posting etiquette, because such posts should be made in "Latest Breaking News." At worst, the posts are from folks trolling to generate a flame war. These posts then just clutter this forum. This is a discussion forum. People should discuss, rather than spam the forum like a newsbot and risk copyright violations.

There are some very good threads, which are very critical of Obama, but which contain actual discussion, rather than regurgitation.

Number one, the market already tanked, and connecting it to Obama talking responsibly about bringing accountability back to wall street is not something you can connect to it. At least not with evidence.

Number two, the market <> the economy.

The DOW is an arbitrary made up conglomeration of more or less random (given what is included and what isn't) stocks influenced by blind speculation and sensationalism.

The top 10% own almost the entire stock market. It's a rich mans barometer on how rich people are doing. Yes, a bad stock market can lead those companies to take it out on employees, its true. But the rich assholes behind manipulating the market are more than happen to deliberately tank it for political purposes - as a president you can't be bullied by a bunch of cocky pricks on Wall Street.

Unfortunately, you've been brainwashed by the corporate media to see everything through the lens of the silly and mostly arbitrary number of the "Dow." It is one of the least meaningful economic indicators of the REAL economy, though it is the best economic indicator of how the wealthy elite feel they are doing for themselves.

Layoffs aren't "starting" because the dow goes down. Layoffs are starting because a housing scandal causes the housing to meltdown, throughout people into crisis, causing them to consume less, taking money out of the economy, starting a nasty cycle. And layoffs, my friend didn't "start" when Obama CORRECTLY started talking about the fuckups of wall street, nor will they STOP if he doesn't do that.
