I'll go first. This is therapy, it will be good.

I like environmental reversals he has made thus far, Yucca Mtn, etc., and I like the stimulus plan.

I don't like Timmeh and I don't like the plans for a surge in Afghanistan.

Come on....give it a shot.

1. I like his reversal of the stem cell research
and the fact that when he speaks he does not embarrass America - I dislike the fact he has not immediately made plans to hold bush inc accountable for their crimes and the lip service he has given gay folk

Don't like the lack of personnel at Treasury and the perpetual campaign.

3. ok
Things I like : the budget (and I like Orzack a lot so far) and his reaching out to the Muslim world in a pretty impressive way so far.

Things I don't like: I don't trust his economic advisors to guard the henhouse, and I'm weary of some of his education plans/charter schools.

4. great personality, intelligent, overturning bush policies (oops that's 3)...
- Us military is by far the biggest component of the upcoming budget
- wants to give our hard earned money to corporate thieves and liars instead of letting evolution get rid of the weak and stupid amongst the corporations.

5. I love that he is human. I love that he is the anti-Bush.
I can't say what I don't like yet, because he has had a ridiculously short time to do his work in a very hostile environment with a rabidly negative media.

So, no therapy needed for me really - just chilling out while these nearly impossible problems get worked out.

6. Hmmm.
I like his reversal on stem cell research and his support of better health care for our veterans.
I don't like that he's reluctant to move ahead on prosecution of people in the Bush administration and that he hasn't gotten the dog yet.

7. I like the stem cell EO
I like the stimulus package.

I don't like his asking for a "study" on DADT. 80% of the American people support getting rid of it. He needs to grow a set.

I like his plans regarding foreign policy.

I like his ideas in regards to alternative energies/science/stem cells, etc.

I dislike his actions/views in regards to equal rights for the GBLT community.

I dislike him embracing the bigoted and extremists in the Religious Right.

Stem Cell research reversals
UN Gay Rights declaration

continually giving bigots and corporatists a platform and a seat at the table
backtracking on Iraq withdrawal timetable
backtracking on DATD promises

13. I love it that he is
willing to meet with people who are not pre screened in a public setting. I like his approach to science.

Not convinced Afghanistan is a good idea. I'll wait and see before I pass judgment on this. If we are just there to root out Al Qaeda and keep the Taliban from reeking havoc that's one thing. Taking over the country and installing a govenment that suits us at the point of a gun would not be good. I don't like it that he is even engaging Rush Limbaugh. Rush isn't worth his energy.

talking about his mistakes. I don't like the fact that he might be standing in the way of justice with respect to the previous Administration. Don't have a second I don't like.

16. I like mostly everything so far, but the big thing for me is Afghanistan.
I think we should cut our losses and leave that region. I am hoping, at the very least, that he comes out with a plan that dramatically reduces our presence there in the near future. A dream for me would be a pullout all together. We can get back at Bin Laden by living our lives with freedom and prosperity. Let him die alone in his cave.

I like that Obama is generally unruffled and cool calm and collected. I like that he likes to get out of Washington and stay in touch with the American people.

I dislike Josh Du Bois and his faith office. I dislike the fact that he allowed Rick Warren to speak at his inauguration.

Edited on Sat Mar-21-09 11:35 PM by FrenchieCat
Love his 2010 Budget, appointment for Drug Czar (campaign promise fulfilled for Fed not to go after medical marijuana), Gates cutting a dozen Defense weapons projects, his outreach to the ME (along with not kissing Israel's ass hard to date), and endorsing the U.N. Gay Rights Declaration.

I don't think he has moved hard enough on some of the DOJ cases that started pre his administration. I'd rather have no leaks on some of the announcements he makes before he makes them (the element of surprise is totally absent, and everybody and his mother has something to say before most announcements are formalized-I prefer to see the critics tied tongue while they think about the proposals), and I would have preferred less outrage on the bonuses, because that was a bogus fabrication by the media (which is why they were all smiling last week) after Santelli failed...cause the bonus issue was old, except that the media made it new.

His efforts to engage other countries in diplomacy.

Dislikes - His allowing the military-industrial complex to continue on its way unabated then any war wherever it may be. We need to withdraw all our military from overseas with the exception of Marines who guard embassies and consulates. No more war! Just think how much money that would save. Universal health care anyone?

I don't like that he gets so much done and manages to take a vacation most week-ends too. And I don't like that he let them take the wolves off the endangered species lift without making sure they wouldn't be hunted.

28. I love that this man is willing to sit down and talk with ANYONE.
That is truly the sign of a great man. Of a great person. The fact that Obama has shown himself willing and able to sit down, talk to and/or engage everyone of all stripes is one of his most fantastic qualities.

I also love that he is so calm and so very intelligent. And I think that his stimulus plan is exactly as bold and aggressive as it needs to be. I also like his reversals on the UN statement of gay persecution and on stem cell research. And I adore his wife. (Okay that's way more than 2) :)

I don't like some of his appointments (Hillary as SoS. I was so pulling for Susan Rice) and I do wish that there was a way to get the troops out of Iraq much sooner. It is taking forever to end something that should never have begun.
