I think we're seeing the folly in having WS insiders formulate economic policy.

I have a mostly futile exercise where I try and imagine what our economic outlook and the government's response to our economic difficulties would be like if the president had weighted his economic team with liberal economists instead of the pack of dyed-in-the-wool Wall Street insiders he's allowing to further manipulate the markets with money borrowed in names of our offspring.

I also spend a great deal of time musing about the growing intransigence of our dual-occupations abroad and what the outlook, strategy, and actions might be with a decidedly more liberal, Democratic-oriented leadership in the Pentagon than the cabal of Bush-holdovers we've been expected to tolerate.

I think that many of us put aside imagining how progressive our futures might be if we asserted more of our liberal views, values, and human resource and have satisfied ourselves with the hope that the president's own ideals would carry the day. Our government and the issues we face are just more complicated and partisan than expectations that enlisting members of the opposition party would cause bipartisan solutions to pour out of the sky like rain; much less an expectation that our leaky boats would then rise.

I'm ready for a progressive team to manage our economy . . . and another to manage our military. It's not really a mystery to me why both concerns have found themselves in a stalemate of bad decisions and tragic implementation of even those.

1.  But Krugman compared Obama supporters to Nixon's people!
Sorry, I know that's a ridiculous statement but it was going to get posted here anyway so I figured I'd get it done early.

14. LOL

That one is not worthy of being classified as having the maturity of a high school taunt. Fifth grade maybe?

2. Yep. It's as irresponsible as buying henhouse security from Foxes, Inc.
Of course they're gonna stack the deck in their favor.

All that Reagan-esque bullshit of "We need to let the companies regulate themselves, because they know best how to regulate themselves" is just bullshit.

Companies aren't going to regulate themselves, any more than five year olds should be setting the rules for classroom behavior.

3. All that unwarranted admiration that people had for Wall Street types, has been effectively
flushed down the toilet.

Now they are seen as no better role models than male and female meth addict prostitutes.

6. Don't worry, be happy!
Peak oil will go away, global warming will cool down, all the nukes will be quietly dismantled, peace will break out among all the people, the poor will be fed and disease will be a thing of the past. That is if we just had a progressive way of life.

But the music died when our progressive leaders were killed at the hands of just three lone gunman and icy wings. Just 3 lone gunman have completely altered the shape of our present day world. And they tell us no one can make a difference... BS.

8. I think that its funny to hear republicans criticize the Obama economic policy
. . . and to reflect on the fact of most of his team's affinity for and belief in so many conservative initiatives and precepts. (the Pentagon bunch as well)

9. Really
He has them all lining themselves up against the wall. And each supplying their own blindfolds, too!

It will be easier this way.

7. We are, but nobody "up there" is - else they are willfully ignoring it.
Likely the latter.

12. What are the signs? Has the Obama plan failed?
Or is this folly based on criticism of the descriptions of a plan to be released this week?

Before we can reach a conclusion about his effectiveness.
