Wow.
Obama's not getting any honeymoon. No "100 days" or anything like that. He's been criticized from the get-go, and he's inherited one of the worst situations you'd ever wish you weren't elected into.
The criticism is coming from the right, sure, but lots of people want shit fixed RIGHT NOW, and you know what? You can't just do it overnight. It took eight years to tear down this country, and people want it reassembled in a month? Ain't gonna happen, as much as we'd like it to, and the dude's barely in office and he has a ton of stuff to do - aside from merely getting oriented, to getting people appointed to positions, and so on and so forth.
The right really would like him to fail. But it's not like they've given us any competent alternative, not that it matters to them. In fact, the attitude I seem to see is where two guys - one on the right, one on the left, and the one on the right drives a car off the cliff, and then when it hits bottom (assuming they're both alive) turns to the other guy and says "what - you have no bright ideas of how to get us out of this?", totally forgetting that they put us in an untenable position to start with.
I want Obama to succeed. I want this country to go back to how I remember it, and although it had faults, we still had values. We didn't torture, at least not obviously, and we respected human rights. And I like what the Obamas are doing... planting their own garden, fer chrissakes. You'll never see Laura doing that. She's so botoxed up I don't think she could move a muscle if she wanted to.
