I've never been a big fan of Geithner, but it's a little early to start comparing him to someone as evil as Rumsfeld.

power has shifted out of public hands.

And Obama's economic team is part of the problem and will simply allow the economic carnage to continue with ZERO accountability or transparency.

can be compared to Geithner. Really, please connect those dots, because I'm not getting them.

How many people is Geithner responsible for killing?

is getting a bit ridiculous. Please everyone feel free to criticize Geithner and Summers but stop with the comparisons to Katrina and Rumsfeld and who knows what else. I refuse to even read what these people have to say when they start out with lunatic rantings.

Edited on Sun Mar-22-09 05:19 PM by ArchieStone1
Because the lack of opportunity to type something longer makes a Twitterer want to say the most shocking, hard-hitting thing he could think of, without offering explanations. You cannot go over 140 characters.

33. Yet, The Media Tries To Blame Obama For The Ongoing Wreakage Of Bush's Clusterfuck Economy
This recession has been going on since December 2007 despite Bush's repeated efforts to insist that the worse is behind us with respect to the subprime crisis. Yet, Bush was given a free pass on 9/11. Worse, ABC ran a mini-series that essentially laid blame on the Clinton despite the fact that Bush was in office for 9 months at the time of the attack.

40. Anyone who thinks Geithner is in ANY way like Rumsfeld is a simpleton on bad crack
Geithner has been at his gig less than two months and he faces an incredibly difficult and complicated situation with the banking industry and the economy.

To even infer that he's a "Rumsfeld" is pure amateurish nonsense... it's like someone comparing someone to someone else based on a life experience of five years.

Dumb. Ass.

46. Obama has been in office TWO months, Geithner slightly less
Edited on Sun Mar-22-09 07:48 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
How in the world can people already be acting as though all of the problems caused by the previous (mis-)administration should already be solved, let alone comparing six years of Bush holding on to an incompetent Defense Secretary and (unindicted) war criminal to two months of Obama having a possibly less-than-perfect Treasury Secretary?
:wtf:

If nothing is really happening after the next few months or into next year then I'll start questioning Geithner's competence/fitness for his position but let's be real: All of the problems Bush and his (mis-)administration caused, let alone the economy, are NOT going to be solved overnight or even in two months- probably NO MATTER WHO IS IN CHARGE. If things are still doing as bad next year without any perceptible changes for the better maybe I'll change my tune but, frankly, I'm just thankful that it's Obama and HIS people trying to figure out how to solve these problems instead of McCain/Palin and theirs.

:scared:

Boy, I sure don't envy Obama and/or anybody working for him.
