Can We Just Call It The Paulson/Summers/Geithner Plan?

Because that's what it is. It's the great Paulson/Summers/Geithner banker bailout of 2009.

It's an untried experiment right out of the Bush-Paulson playbook. Hand a fortune to the Wealthy, and hope that they behave and somehow stabilize the economy. The same people running the same banks are expected to behave totally differently than they have over the last 20 years. And if they fail, we get left holding the bag.

The alternative, nationalization, works whenever it's used (as far as I know): The Great Depression, S&L debacle, Swededn, etc. Why on Earth wouldn't we use what works? It's nuts!

Summers and Geithner were henchmen in the wholesale deregulation of financial institutions under Clinton, as well as job-obliterating almost-free trade with China. I am astonished that they are being given carte blanche to sodomize us again. Incredible.

It IS, for all practical purposes, the same fucking plan. It keeps resurrecting with small modifications to the same basic theme.
