Chuckles Todd thinks Americans aren't sacrificing enough during these difficult economic times.
He wants to know why the President doesn't demand we do more.

What a rude display of assholery.

the fool who asked at the last presser if the American people to blame for the mess because of spending above their means?

I'm pretty sure it was him and if so he's two for two for stupid question of the presser.

7. Six years of war
and military families being the only ones sacrificing and now this ass wants to know what the rest us are doing because of the economy? I suppose he could take a look at my 401K. It never was very big, but now I've sacrificed all hope of retiring before I'm 70.

9. His question was moronic
I heard him on Rachel last night and he sounded like he was putting a lot of thought into his question, and seeking regular people's input. And this is what he came up with? Get a clue, Chuckie. The American people are bearing the brunt of this entire recession, and paying for the recovery singlehandedly. He really needs help.

boomeranged and made a wide opening so Obama could tell mr chuck todd exactly what the Americans were sacrificing..oh, and that the People should pay attention to what goes on in Wash DC.

That question cost me a dime as I texted a friend mentioning what a moron Todd is. But the social costs of having Todd as a correspondent cannot be measured.

Was that the best you can do? Really?

Idiots like Chuck Todd need to get out among those of us who are part of the great unwashed masses.

Then he'd see that plenty of people are scarificing a LOT.

Idiot!

32. Wow! What a progressive idea!
Go after old people when the Social Security Trust fund has been looted for years to pay for obscene levels of military spending and tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

Who else should sacrifice? Children getting free school lunches? Or maybe disabled people who get Medicaid? Or maybe we should screw disabled vets out of health care?

23. Bush was criticized for not asking Americans to sacrifice when we were going to war,
and dozens of Americans were being killed. The point of that criticism was, "This war is costing us billions and people are dying, yet most Americans aren't feeling the effects in their everyday lives. Shouldn't wealthy Americans pay more taxes to pay for it or everyone be asked to drive less to lower oil consumption? Shouldn't there be some recognition of what is going on, that everything is not alright?" And the answer from that administration was, "No."

But things are very different now. People are feeling the effects of the economy, whether it be in their 401k, losing their job or their home. It is very different from when Bush said, "Go to the mall, shop. Keep buying SUVs." Most Americans can't go through their everyday lives without thinking, "This place is fucked." There's nothing left for them to sacrifice, nothing left to give. It takes balls to take someone's job or retirement and then tell them, "Why can't you sacrifice more?"

How can someone so smart say something so stupid? Does he not think people are "sacrificing" now? What an idiotic question.

:eyes:

Does something happen to reporters' brains when they get access to the president? We certainly have seen a lot of weirdness from the press on display at these events.

28. Wasn't he on Hardball the other day explaining how he was planning this question?
Not THIS question, but rather, whatever he was going to ask Obama if called upon at the presser.

It was a coupla days ago, and I could've sworn that he said he was actively seeking input from viewers to help him decide what to ask.

If this is the result of such efforts, perhaps he needs to re-think the process.

seemed out of touch.

They really thought they were asking difficult questions and couldn't imagine the common sense answers.

30. It seems like the press corps
just found a list of questions they meant to ask in Bush's first term.

Chuck Todd's question seemed absurd and upside down. Regular Americans making sacrifices is part of the PROBLEM, they can't afford to spend causing a crisis in demand.

giving trillions to bailout the crooks who caused this mess. But not to worry, he'll have to use it sooner or later.
