Behind the scenes: Ed Henry's take on exchange with Obama--*BY* Ed Henry (LOL)

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/03/25/henry.obama/

The pressure was on now because the president had called on me. Someone handed me a microphone, millions were watching, and it's scary to think about changing topic in a split second because you might get flustered and screw up.

But it's fun to gamble and like any good quarterback (though I was never athletic enough to actually play the position), I decided to call an audible.
so your toughguy football metaphor actually proves that you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Geesh

So I went hard on the AIG question, and took Wolf's advice and followed on a couple of colleagues who got pushback from the president when they asked about how his budget numbers do not seem to add up.

The president, like any good politician, decided to pick and choose what to answer. So he swatted away the budget question and ignored the AIG stuff.

So I waited patiently and then decided to pounce with a sharp follow-up. From just a few feet away, I could see in his body language that the normally calm and cool president was perturbed.

But it's in moments like that we sometimes find out what's really on a president's mind. In this case, he's not happy about the scrutiny on AIG. So he did slap me down a bit.

 What a little twerp

But someone liked it (and must be referenced for some reason )

But my Republican friends hailed me by saying essentially, "Thanks for doing your job -- he never answered the question."

2. What a lameass wanker - a true republicon propaganda pimp, with no gravitas
CNN calls this pimp a 'journalist'? No wonder people are tuning out the corporate republicon media -- they serve the republicon corporate masters, not the truth or the citizens of the USA

"my Republican friends hailed me by saying essentially, "Thanks for doing your job -- he never answered the question."

3. he never answered the question
um, he did.....
the reason he waited is so he could get the whole story before he spoke

the fact that he didn't even pay attention to what was said tells you he didn't care about the answer to begin with. He just wanted to make the prez look bad, and he got smacked in the process.
These fools forget they aren't dealing with braindead chimpy anymore. This guy has a brain!

10. basketball player

I've been making this comparison since the inauguration

In any basketball game (especially pick-up games) there is some level of "trash talking". There are several ways to engage in trash talking but anyone who has spent time on the court has "a game" for that too-it is necessary. Obama has his game down.

The key in the fluid dance of basketball is footwork. With all that is going on you have to be fundamentally sound with your footwork are nothing else matters. All the football analogies the DC crowd loves to use to expand their chests and that (like Ed Henry) few ever actually played is talk of a different game. While they like the static re-set inherent in football once they think they get their feet set on him they find out he already went by them and they have to pivot (footwork), turn their shoulders (a telltale sign that you got beat), and play catch up (usually resulting in reaching and fouling).

6. A psychologist could explain some of the things going on in that sentence very well.
That was my favorite part of (agreed) a horrible article. The setting of the drama, the toughguy football metaphor, and then we find out....wait for it... HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT AND he admits it

13. Obama is going to separate the men from the boys in the press corps pretty quickly
He is simply not going to take bull shit gotcha questions from the press. But he's also not gonna have a childish temper tantrum like Bush did. He's not even going to take names like Nixon. He's going to school the reporter and the nation in why this stuff is stupid and wastes our time. Over at TPM they have the transcript of Obama's speech at the DNC where he takes apart cable news. As he rightly should.

We live in strange times when I get my news from a comedian (the mighty Jon) and turn to "news" shows for the entertainment value.
