Question about universal medicaid access:

Assuming we're at a point where anyone can sign up for medicaid:

If I work for a company that provides health insurance that costs "X," would it be possible for the company to divert that "X" or perhaps a little less than "x" to pay for my medicaid plan?

I don't know much about this stuff, but if your employer was able to save a little money if you chose medicaid over their full private plan, or could choose to have some things covered by private and some by medicaid, that would be very interesting.

2. In CA you can't have MediCal (our Medicaid) if otherwise insured.

Medicare, yes, but Medicaid, no.

not on whether the employer provides health insurance.

i hope any new system will allow people to choose a gov't system over a private system if they so choose.
