This just ain't right!

Even if he really never said it, I could tell that this was what he wanted to do.

This is totally messed up!

He just shat on all of us, and this cannot stand!

Oh, I'm still supporting him....but he's made it quite a bit more difficult,
not to support something he never said he would.

Because I don't see the "force" you are speaking of.

26. What would be those results?
That folks start putting things into perspective and realize that this President can't just do what we want him to do just because we want it. And that if he didn't run on it, acting like he did is a lie?

IT's one thing to have an intelligent discussion over policy issue, including legalizing Marijuana, etc...

It is quite another to act as though Obama has betrayed us all, and is totally wrong in his approach...considering that we are talking politics, after all.

I'm tired of the bar being set so high.....and then folks jumping down the President's throat when he doesn't meet their expectations.....along with not giving him much time to even get to anything.

It is disengenious.

What makes you better? And what makes me worse?

My habit is not to post ugly. My habit is to post how I feel,
and find that posters who copy and paste negativity don't get your advise.
Why is that? You care about me more or something?

17. This is very disappointing
DUers who attack other DUers with ridicule and lack of respect are not helping anything at all...in fact, they damage this community, and signal to all that there will be no discussion without deliberate attempts to instigate anger.

I have had about enough of this. Plonk.

24. And I'm glad you do. Nothing is said about the constant negative
posts but God forbid you actually support the Democratic President. I have found zilch to be mad at this President for. That pick of Gregg was the only thing I raised my eyebrows at. I don't care who doesn't like it either. The constant negative attacks and right wing bs on this site is ridiculous. It's fine to disagree on some issues but some post attack after attack just like a right winger would. Where's the outrage at that?

22. No one is asking you for anything.
I am here for my own reasons.

We've got enough haters of everything and anything that Obama does and says (not you), and so I provide a certain balance.

That's how I deal with my own frustration about those wanting everything just cause they want it,
and believing that they have done more than others, and so they should get theirs on a silver
platter, no matter their impossibilities.

I've got Barack Obama's back (cause what I demand has a lower threshold then what some others might--not a crime, last I checked), cause that's what I choose.

If you put me on ignore, it will be like I don't exist.
I suggest that to anyone who don't want to read what I have to say.
Freedom of expression works many ways!
So I get to do it too!

45. it's not about what he promised, it's about what's right
I enjoy much of what you write on DU, seriously.

This one, one of the most pathetic things I've seen in awhile. You're better than this, Frenchie.

It's not about what he did or didn't promise us, it's about what's right and what's wrong.

Millions of non-violent pot users and sellers going to jail is wrong. These people are not criminals. Hell, just living as a criminal, even if you're not caught, living with that shadow over you, is wrong.

Creating markets for organized crime is wrong.

Fiscally, it costs us money we can't afford to imprison these people, and to not have tax revenue from one of our largest cash crops.

<http://www.salem-news.com/articles/october092008/marijuana_100808.php>

* In 2007 there were 14.5 million current users of marijuana in the United States, compared with 14.6 million in 2002, while the number of Americans who have ever used marijuana actually increased.
* ONDCP has not come close to meeting its goal of reducing illegal drug use by 25 percent by 2007.
* There was a marked jump in the percentage of marijuana treatment admissions referred by the criminal justice system from 1992 to 2006, while just 45 percent of marijuana admissions met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) criteria for marijuana dependence.

According to data just released in the FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report, police in 2007 arrested over 872,000 US citizens - that's nearly one out of every two Americans busted for illicit drugs -- for weed. That is more than three times the number of citizens charged with pot violations sixteen years ago.

Of those arrested in 2007, 89 percent, that's 775,000 Americans, were charged with simple pot possession. Not trafficking, not cultivation, not selling.
