15. Just a guess, but I don't think Obama's goals are quite as broad as Johnson's in Vietnam

I think Obama knows we're not going to fully defeat the Taliban. I think he just wants us to keep Kabul in tact and fight the Taliban on another front so that they will lay off of Pakistan for a while.

If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. But I honestly don't think he is stupid enough to get into an endless war with high casualties. I think our objectives in Afghanistan are very very limited.
