But the kids should be off limits, until they decide to make speeches at the Republican National Convention (which Barbara and Jenna did not do in the first campaign).

then they're fair game--on that issue. It's not fair to constantly berate them about how they look or their physical characteristics--it suggests a desire to pile on and be nasty just for nastiness' sake.

I just don't like the constant "appearance" bashing, be it about facial/body features or what people choose to wear. The "Joker" jokes about Laura Bush were amusing the first three or four times, then, after awhile, it became vicious. Same with the "George Washington" jokes about Barbara Bush (who hid a miserable, angry streak behind a grandmotherly facade). Hillary Clinton got it no matter what she did. The "Aunt Esther" jokes about Mrs. Obama aren't terribly amusing, either.

It's one thing to mention it, it is an entirely different thing to build a persona around the "difference" (be it physical or style-related) and beat the theme to death, over and over again, over the course of years or decades. The Post has viewed a piece of the tape, but refused to pay the guy for it.

I think the reporting is accurate. It's an unfortunate situation.

I think the guy flogging the tape should be revealed, so we can see him for the slimeball that he is. He and that jerk that sold the pics of the swimmer with the bong ought to be put in the "Shitheel Friend Hall of Fame" and be mocked for the remainder of their days. Their names should be synonyms for "traitor," "asshole" and "shithead."

so you're using the fact that the post won't pay for it as confirmation that it's her in the video? couldn't the more likely and reasonable scenario be that the post won't pay for it because it isn't her or clear enough. if it was clearly her they would buy the video in a second. a british tabloid would have bought it by now, they are usually the ones you go to first because it doesn't even have to be 100%, "looks like" is good enough for them.

I'm judging that the Post has seen a sufficient amount to ID the woman on the tape, they've made an ID of the woman, but they don't want to pay this bum the cash for the goods. Two million is obscene--the guy bargained down real quick to four hundred grand, but they still said no.

I doubt the guy has forty three minutes of a "look alike." I also doubt that the POST would run a story based on an unclear picture.

And why would the Brits buy it? They don't really give a shit about the Vice President. Would we, over here, pay two million bucks for racy footage of the daughter of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, or something? I'll bet most Brits know Obama, but wouldn't recognize Joe Biden if they ran him over on the wrong side of the road.

Apparently, from other cites, it's plenty clear, not fuzzy, the woman is in plain sight, and she even talks in the film --however, the guy was using a HIDDEN camera, which is the "new piece" of the puzzle that was not reported yesterday. Because the guy was using a hidden camera, the lawyer repping him has stepped back:

Washington lawyer Thomas Dunlap is under fire for attempting to sell a video of Ashley Biden, the 27-year-old daughter of Joe Biden, allegedly snorting lines of cocaine at a Delaware party last month.

The New York Post claims that Dunlap showed it 90 seconds of the 43-minute tape, which purportedly shows Ashley doing lines of coke with a red straw in front of witnesses and later shouting "Shut the F-- Up!" The newspaper reported that the seller wanted $2 million before dropping his price to $400,000.
Radar Online reported that Dunlap has since dropped the client after he learned the tape was recorded on a hidden camera, complaining about all the "negative attention."

Dunlap told RadarOnline.com early Sunday that he is no longer involved in the attempted sale of the video and informed his client he would not continue to represent him. The lawyer said he did not want to be involved due to circumstances surrounding the publicity of the matter.

Why pay for something when you can report on it for free? The Post isn't in the habit of paying for shit--that's the ENQUIRER and the Brit tabs, who wouldn't pay a bundle for that either, because no one KNOWS this young woman...she's not terribly FAMOUS, even though she is the VP's daughter.

So, hmmmm. Yes. If I were in Vegas, I'd bet that the woman on this tape IS Ashley Biden, and she's doing coke on the tape.

And it's a shame. A shame for her, for her loss of privacy, a shame for her dad, who will be embarrassed by this, and a shame that she has such a crappy "friend" who would fuck her over like that.
