And as the scandal grows, the lawyer trying to peddle the tape while representing the man who shot it has quit.

Tom Dunlap, an attorney for the Washington, D.C. firm Dunlap, Grubb and Weaver has dropped the seller of the tape as a client.

Dunlap told RadarOnline.com early Sunday that he is no longer involved in the attempted sale of the video and informed his client he would not continue to represent him. The lawyer said he did not want to be involved due to circumstances surrounding the publicity of the matter.

This is a firm which specializes in IP & Commercial litigation, IP Prosecution, Bankruptcy among the usual services for a business firm. A little Googling yeilds no news articles on the firm but a lot about patents, trademarks and IPO representation.

Odd choice of attorney for someone looking to sell a tape of the daughter of the VP doing something illegal.

Lots of inconsistencies about this whole thing:

1) The original story states that Ashley does not have SS protection because she complained and her dad "got rid of them". Really, the daughter of the sitting VP doesn't have protection (this incident allegedly took place last month)? Are you really telling me that Joe Biden who lost a daughter years ago in a car accident is going to allow her to walk around unprotected?

2) The story has changed from "she knew she was being taped" to "it was made without her knowledge" Well if you've seen the tape which is it? I don't know about you, but I think that would be pretty damn easy to figure out.

3) Supposedly the seller had a another tape made in August but couldn't get anyone to buy it. Wait...are you asking us to believe that right before or after the Bristol Palin story hit, the Republicans and their operatives couldn't find this tape and play it on FAUX NEWS 24/7. Is that what you're telling me?
