2. I strongly feel President Obama will be re-elected in 2012,
and justifiably so.

I see no "failures" in his presidency to speak of.

I do see significant uplift and restoration of global respect, however. And I also appreciate having an educated adult community-builder in high office as opposed to a narcissitic punk from Texas.

89. I agree, he will be re-elected. But not pushing stronger on healthcare ...
... for me is a failure.

I might also add his education policy (thus far) seems to be headed toward failure.

I think his biggest mistake has been his creation of such a closed Treasury Office. He does not have a wide range of views as he suggested he would, at least not in this department. Even today, there is not one assistant secretary. Why is that? Do you honestly believe it is because they can get no one confirmed??

71. Hi again, LWolf
Edited on Sun Mar-29-09 09:37 PM by mvd
Can you explain your position on why President Obama has been bad on education? Is merit pay the problem? Is Arne Duncan against teachers' unions having influence? Those two things have bothered me.

So far the biggest disappointments for me are (I won't call them failures yet) -

1) Afghanistan. I don't want buildup there. A change in "strategy" won't put the troops out of harm's way, and combat forces should come home.

2) I want Obama to take the lead more on health care

3) Education policy bothers me

4) Will Obama place the regulations before the next bailouts?

Can't really complain about his rather impressive list of very public efforts to reach across the aisle. I'm just waiting for the moment when he points to all the teeth marks in his hand and tells them, "Hey, I gave you lots of chances. Now we're just gonna get it done without you. Buh bye!"

91. Sadly, yes.
My wife goes to a wheelchair in five years if she can't get a hip replacement operation...

We have no insurance or money....

92. Granted, he works slowly and deliberately.
Which is why I'm almost certain he will get around to it in time. But, that's what I say is his "failure," albeit a minor failure.

Our healthcare system needs fixing quickly.

Like, yesterday.

But, moving too quickly can give us a Bush-Medicare type of "fix," which would be bad.

So, while I consider this a "failure," I wouldn't call it a major failure.

I don't care for Arne and his charter fetish.

94. I voted for the last category. Hmmm...., his biggest failure is that
in two months, he has not done enough and gone skylarking to the G-20 Summit! Hope you know that the second sentence is sarcasm.

95. "Doing pretty well," at least.
Trouble is, "pretty well" may not be good enough to hold this sucker together.

The GOP is planning to challenge Obama in 2012, of course, but if there is an election that year at all, that in itself will be a significant success for this Democratic Administration. IMO.

97. While I approve of his job thus far as president, if I *HAD* to locate a failure, his most
offensive one is not listed in your poll. It is Rick Warren. By a MILE.
