2. Halperin is a mouthy 'political analyst' who was
front and center during the primaries. I knew there was a reason I didn't like him or trust him, but never thought to look up his bio.

Mark E. Halperin (born January 11, 1965), is an American political analyst for Time magazine, Time.com, and ABC News. He is also an editor at large for Time and produces a website called "The Page" for Time.com.

8. He also wrote a book with John Harris
Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 08:45 AM by karynnj
on the 2004 election, where he referred to Matt Drudge as the "Edwards R. Murrow of our generation". The first chapter, which was at the time the book came out available on the web, backed that claim by using a story of what was really a not very damaging dirty trick he did.

In 2003, Matt Drudge took the information that John Kerry got a hair cut at a top DC place for $75 into a story that he completely manufactured out of whole cloth. He claimed that Kerry spent $1000 for styling, coloring, and highlighting and included fictitious quotes from non existent stylists to the effect that Kerry was very fussy and vain about his hair. Although the book said that both the Kerry campaign and the salon immediately denied the story, they still felt this was incredibly clever and worked to frame Kerry negatively.

What I got from this was that neither of these men could ever again be considered journalists.

9. Holy moly! I wasn't aware of that quote comparing drudge to
E.R. Murrow. His credibility should have been shot long ago for that alone.

7. Amen.
Sarah Palin the other day was lambasting the media for its treatment of her during the election. Now I personally don't think she's got a lot to complain about there, but she did raise the point of asking whatever happened to the "who-what-when-where-why" rule of journalism. For possibly the first time ever, she has a point. It seems that every journalist out there these days has an agenda, and is allowed to get away with that. The decline of American journalism has become one of the most dangerous and corrupting sources to our country.

10. Halperin is a clown who doesn't even know the meaning of "ex officio"
Halperin is a biased hack. But he's most assuredly not an "ex officio" member of the RNC. Ex officio (from the office) is a term used to refer to a position that one automatically holds by virtue of another position. For example, in the House, committee chairs are ex officio members of every one of the committee's subcommittees by virtue of being committee chairman. I'm pretty sure halperin doesn't hold any office that would make him an "ex officio" member of the RNC.

He's just a doofus.
