Ford issues statement on its plan

Ford issues statement on its plan

Free Press staff • March 30, 2009

As President Barack Obama brought about unprecedented government control over the auto industry, rejecting turnaround plans from General Motors and Chrysler and raising the prospect of controlled bankruptcy for either company, Ford Motor Co. today issued a statement outlining its position:

“We appreciate President Obama’s commitment to the U.S. auto industry. Ford is in a different position and is not seeking emergency taxpayer assistance. However, we are taking decisive action to transform our business and win new customers as we launch an unprecedented number of high-quality, fuel efficient vehicles like the Fusion Hybrid and new global Fiesta. Ford already has reached new agreements with the UAW and has made progress in reducing its debt. We’ll continue working with all of our stakeholders to be fully competitive with the best in the business.”

11. Bring those Euro models to the States!
They have some terrific little cars which are stylish, sporty, and economical.
