Freeper Running for Rahm's Seat Apologizes for Bigoted Freeper Posts She Made

"As we noted on Monday, a newly-created blog has been compiling inflammatory comments posted to the Free Republic website by Rosanna Pulido, the Republican candidate in the 5th Congressional District race. For years, Pulido has contributed to the right-wing site under the nickname "chicagolady."

Here are links to some of her more outrageous comments:

- Pulido thinks Obama will sell black people into slavery.
- Pulido will give her guns to liberals “bullets first”.
- Pulido says Muslims at prayer remind her of a dogs “smelling buts ”.
- Pulido calls gay men “fudge packers”…a lot.
- Pulido says offering amnesty to illegal immigrants will cause an African-American genocide.
- Pulido believes in hanging politicians for treason when it comes to immigration.
- Pulido has been calling Obama “Osama” since 2004.
- Pulido thinks stealing is part of Mexican culture.
- Pulido thinks that Mexicans are the “new Ku Klux Klan with the tan”.

Despicable stuff, but not really surprising considering her previous statements, associations, and policy positions. Nonetheless, the revelations led several conservative bloggers in the area to withdraw their support for Pulido, citing "new concerns."

Apparently feeling the heat, "chicagolady" left this note on the Free Republic site on Wednesday evening:

"Dear Friends and fellow FReepers, I want to tell you what has transpired. Every now and then we get a chance to make things right.

In 2003 I did some crude joking on Freerepublic. You folks are correct, you need to watch what you say. I truly believe that telling the truth is the way to live.

I was called to task by some folks who sponored a Congressional 5th district reception last night.

I made some derogatory comments, that I had to take responsibility for. I will not make excuses for my bad behavior.

I had a chance to apologize to people I hurt.

They were cordial and accepted my apology and I can move on now.

Also A Muslim man who is my good friend called me. We talked about some other stupid comments I made and I had the opportunity to take responsibility for what I said. Actually this campaign is not as important to me as doing the right thing when I screw up and hurt people and my friends.

I am learning some hard lessons and so be it. We all have joked and said stupid things. I am having a human experience.

The fact that I am having some time to communicate and make things right really means a lot to me. I am humbled by the response of the people who feel offended. They have offered me their forgivness, which I am thankful for."

It kind of reminds me of this video game I used play, it was a Star Wars video game. Basically you could choose for your character to either be on the "Dark side" or the "Light side". If you went on the "Dark side" you characters appearance would start to change, he or she would become disfigured and just plain ugly. There's another game that has a similar game mechanic that does something similar too, but I won't get into that.

It's a very liberal district. Quigley got the endorsements of the Trib and Suntimes in the primary. They endorsed him because he is truly reform minded and has worked hard doing this on the Cook County Board. BTW he has had strong ties to DFA (the liberal group Democracy For America). Many liberals in Chicago are angry that he won because he will no longer be on the county board and they REALLY need his voice and his leadership.
