Why does the Liberal Media call all the protestors---Anarchists?!
Edited on Wed Apr-01-09 07:11 AM by vaberella
I'm getting extremely annoyed by these people. I won't deny there may be a few Anarchists, but I doubt that many of them are. Why? Anarchists aren't people who would call for the Government to take some sort of action like take out Capitalism and hold the Capitalists responsible. They're the people who are anti-Gov. So to hear that these protestors are just summarized as Anarchists rubs me the wrong way. I get the feeling they are intentionally stigmatizing the actions of protestors as just trouble makers and their voices not worthy of recognition. Plus, there's this lurking questions always in the background..."are they acting up?" "Do you think it will turn violent?" <---What the hell? Is that always the case?! It's really frustrating. We have MSNBC calling them Anarchists over and over and over again. And we have CNN ONLY covering arrests. What the hell is their deal? At this point I'm ready to protest the media because they are most definitely pushing an agenda that is anti the right of citizens to speak out. To label and malign the people and their actions (which is what I'm getting) hurts all of us around the world in the end, not just those in London right now.

**This is not a post to bash Anarchists, but there is a genuine negative appeal about Anarchists--ie the Stigmatization of violent, disruptive, and angry people who will take out government by any means necessary. :eyes: Now they're putting it on non-violent protestors.

1. well - perhaps the protesters are referring to themselves as Anarchists?
for example, the "Whitechapel Anarchist Group".

10. As I stated, I won't deny there are some Anarchists there.
But the media is summarizing the mass of thousands upon thousands of people as Anarchists and that's what's getting me peeved. One group doesn't equate to an entire population.

us "little people" who earn MUCH LESS :(. It reminds me of how out of touch our parents were of us teens during the 1970s. The M$M just doesn't get it ... and they never will. Dumbasses!

Hey CNN! Here's your ANARCHY!

3. You're not the only one asking!
Daniel James, Norwich, UK, says: Why are the BBC talking about the G20 protestors as if they are a bunch of escaped convicts baying for financial blood? My Dad is protesting after finding that his pension is 60% lower than it was 12 months ago. He has worked all his life as a newspaper journalist.

1258 The BBC's Mark Georgiou texts: The crowd outside the Bank of England is getting increasingly tense. The police line in Threadneedle street is becoming the focus of loud attention.
1245 Scotland Yard says the number of people arrested now stands at 11.

4. If you check the live CNN link above, there are plenty of 50 and 60 somethings in the crowd.
And they are dressed in middle aged casual not in "anarchist garb."

Mike Barnicle was saying that these were probably "bloggers who were really on the governments dole"(!). And Mika is doing the "I thought Obama was supposed to be popular overseas" thing.

6. ROTFLMAO! Give Mika another shot of Grey Goose and put Mourning Ho-Jo to bed.
:P

CNBC's commentators were complaining at the airing of this protest saying that "the big man" in the upstairs booth is making them play this coverage. Don't cha know, if it's not on our illustrious USA M$M Cable TV, it didn't happen.

8. and Mika keeps going ON AND ON
about "spending bad. Deficit bad. What kind of credibility does Obama have when he is doing such massive spending? It's our job to continue to ask the TOUGH QUESTIONS." She has such a simplistic view of everything it's embarrassing.

13. What a waste of a brilliant father and family line.
My belated dad was my real life hero and I wouldn't trade his love and guidance for the world -BUT ... if I could fantasize?

If I was blessed to have the brilliant Zbigniew Brzezinski as my father, I'd be working along side Secretary of State Clinton in The State Department, not as a dip-shit morning talk show commentator. What a waste! Not unlike the selfishness of Sonja Gupta turning down the esteemed "Surgeon General" position, i.e.,, trading in your SELF-RESPECT and historical significance for a little more in your paycheck each week. :puke:

protests in DC.

9. No, it's not because of the Seattle Protests at all, IMO, it's to make *any protest*
of big banking and predatory capitalism seem IRRELEVANT. If you label someone as "an anarchist" it is much the same as labeling them "a terrorist" = you don't have to take them seriously or negotiate with them. Sort of how Big Business views LABOR. :(

BTW, there was "a lot" going on during the Seattle Protests to instill violence that did not begin with the lion's share of PEACEFUL PROTESTERS.

14. Too funny - it seems like the French and the Brits have youth with passion that I don't see ...
yet in our kids (teens / early 20s).

They do know how to put on an entertaining protest. :-)

Sure there are a number of older people interspersed within the crowd of protesters but the energy always emanates from "our beloved youth."

19. Yeah..when I was living in London...I was at a protest every other week.
I lived there for about 5 years. Every day it seemed we were working on something to protest. From school price hikes to ending the war.

25. No Problem. If you go, you'll have fun.
My most prized memory was when I went for the march that drew millions in London and across the waters against the War in Iraq. Someone had done a papier mache of a bald eagle with a US necklace on it's neck, standing on top of the World globe with blood pooring out where it's talons were and on it's ass was the British Flag. Brilliant work I thought.

when I did see the live feed before on CNN, it looked like the Bobbys were to blame for a lot of the problems. I wondered who walked by a few minutes ago. Did they send in the swat? The cops who are in black---I guess their London's version of swat.

From the Watchmen? I think not. They are mostly normal people and Mika is an idiot. One can like Obama and protest the overall system.
