And we don't know the depth of the Bush-Cheney evil, but Sy Hersh says likely we will see more of it. Scares the crap out of me.

Hell has a special place for Cheney, Rove, et al. I hope they live long lives and die in prison.

It breaks my heart that Spain is willing to do the job that our country apparently is unwilling to do.

edited for clarity.

39. they're sitting in a clump because they're scared to stand alone.
Sitting there doing nothing but jeering. They have nothing to offer. Nothing. Bankrupt and useless.

Seems all conservatives ever have to offer is "it was better the way we used to do it". They are so scared of change. Except, as in the bush/cheney case, to move radically back into the past to try to set up some sort of Cold War mentality again, a new McCarthy era--except this time the bad guys are the "terrorists".

Back to McCarthy. Back to Reagan. Back, back, back to stuff that never worked the first time and sure as heck won't now. No confidence that anything new will improve things, especially if it has a Democrat thinking of it.

46. An aside . . .
Edited on Fri Apr-03-09 12:12 AM by defendandprotect
Just want to comment on your sig by a man I find very interesting -- John Dean.

"Nothing in America's founding, or the creation of the United States, was of a conservative nature." - John W. Dean

Granted, "equality for all" was liberal but then we had the compromise with slaveowners/states.
And, women didn't turn out to be "equal" nor people of color, including natives.
Only landowners could vote.

But coming back to Dean .... I find him fascinating. How did he manage to stay alive?
Meanwhile, he was one of them - selected because he showed signs of dishonesty.
Further, Dean was pushing for Nixon to use the IRS more powerfully against their "enemies."
That's just one thing -- I mean after all he was really in there!
Also, within the Nixon tapes, there is one where John Dean is saying to Nixon . . .
presumably as he is signing something for him, whatever . . . "wouldn't Ted Kennedy be
amazed to know the bear trap he's walking into this weekend?" This was the weekend of
Chappaquidic.

Some have surmised that Kennedy was set up -- the girl killed and Ted left to explain.

What more might John Dean know . . . I'd guess, a lot!

Meanwhile, it's "only been 60 days!" . . . dum de dum dum . . .
