Rachel, and Christianne Amanpour.. the best two
human beings in TV journalism, in my opinion.

They should link up for some 2 or 3 hour daily show on some network. Both of these women are superior to anything in the male gender in newscasting.....they even make Katie Couric look like a fool.

11. I don't hate him either. But he is sidestepping
SURE he helped Obama get elected, but his job was to advise the Prez, on state and defense issues.

He failed at that job. He's trying to make himself look good for posterity, so is Bush.

I'm sorry, he failed to stand up when a soldier should stand up against crimes against humanity.

Let's give him no jail time, but make sure he never gets another taxpayer dollar or health care benefit in his retirement, when he cannot be courageous about Bush's absolute failure to protect this nation from the disaster we are dealing with now.

16. Oh please...Bush and Cheney..
used him to see their war to the U.N., period. They didn't want input from anyone, because they knew exactly what they wanted to do from day 1, and did it. Now if Colin Powell had stuck with John McCain, he might have his own show on Fox news.

You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

It goes for both Powell and Obama.

30. Wow. You really underestimate the effect of Powell's
endorsement. I saw it with my own eyes that many republicans let go of their last reservations about Obama when Powell endorsed him. It was amazing to see that happen. I have friends whose parents are staunch republicans and military types. The last people who you would think would jump on the bandwagon, old military types in their 70's and 80's voted for Obama because of Powell.

17. that was pretty impressive, thanks, Rachel!
Powell looked a little bit like a deer in headlights, i think. He was obviously not comfortable about the torture issue.

I doubt if Powell was ever an active participant in endorsing it, but sometimes, just being in the company if those thugs is enough to give the appearance of guilt.

20. Didn't ya hear, we're supposed to forgive him for torture
It's called "redemption" and got a few hundred rec'ds a while back here on the boards. You see, if we act superior in our ability to forgive that somehow magically stops torturous criminals from committing war crimes in the future.

22. Sure, and also by making it our #1 priority to prosecute Bush/Cheney ...
Islamic fundamentalists will all of a sudden lay down their arms and denounce violent overthrow of the USA.

Rachel, Keith, and Johnathan Turley need to get a grip. Is this what you want to waste our political power on now? Sorry, but universal healthcare, passing Obama's budget, fostering education so we have more engineers & scientists are much, much more important.

There will be no more torture going forward. That's good enough for me given our current pressing circumstances.

32. I saw that and she kept asking him again an again
And he kept saying he didn't recall in every way he could. He dodged and dodged and wriggled out of every direction she came at him. And she was polite about it too. Wow! Anyone who's been disappointed in her lately needs to watch her again. She's really developing and growing before our very eyes.
