4. Saw that on the newsstand today and just about fell over. Is that a somewhat
flattering headline from the NY Post?

3. Some of those folks actually look -
happy!

Happy that the dolt is gone.

Happy to be in the presence of a glowing personality.

Happy that an adult is representing the USA.

Happy that a sane, responsible first family is part of the "global elite".

Happy to experience the optimism and intelligence that is the Obama family.

10. Isn't it though?
No more cringing... no more wincing... no more deep sense of embarrassment.

It really is like night and day.

31. I cried during that whole thing when I saw it on Countdown
I'm just so proud to have those two representing our country.

It's also nice that neither of them is from inherited wealth or privilege - they both clawed their way out of lower middle-class backgrounds by dint of hard work and dedication to education (and their parent(s) focus on education), so their promotion of these values rings absolutely true.

12. I think the return of America as something different.
Like when we get our civil liberties back, when we uphold the dignity of our people with single-payer health insurance, when we remove ourselves from nonsensical wars like Iraq and Afghanistan, when we have equal rights for gays. I think that is when we have America back.

Instead what we have on this thread is a bunch of elites indulging themselves and taking their photo opps.

14. Italian PM Berlusconi looks like fun guy with his big genuine smile
I know he's super-rich, which makes these photos all the more intriguing because he doesn't look like a snobby, "elitist" multi-millionaire. Is he conservative or liberal, anyone know?

I bet he has some killer red wines in his wine cellar.

25. Watching Obama's presser today actually brought tears to my eyes.
I don't agree with everything he has done, things he said or some of his cabinet picks

BUT I am so proud to have him represent us. He exudes confidence and has the right personality to get world leaders working together again.

32. Yeah, that Community Organizer thing isn't helping him at all
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/white-house-watch/financial-crisis/007obama-hails-turning-point.html?hpid=opinionsbox1">World Community Organizer
"Resolving disputes is another part of Obama's style, and it turns out he did that in London as well. Jake Tapper reported for ABC News that Obama "played peacemaker in a spat between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China."

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2008976758_g20analysis03.html">This line from the Seattle Times sums it all up nicely:
"In a rare show of emotion from the international media, many in the room stood up and cheered after Obama was done."
