There is a difference between having a disagreement in policy and stupid shit
If I think that the bailout plan is to generous to Wall Street that is a disagreement of policy.

If I'm worried that he bowed to far to the Saudi King at an event that is stupid.

If I think he could be stronger on Gay Marriage that is a disagreement of policy.

If I think he hates people with disabilities because of a gaffe on Leno that is stupid.

Its ok to disagree with your President on policy and speak out about it. Its ok to organize for what you feel is right. You can be passionate about the bailout plan, gay rights, or any number of issues and lobby your government. You are not a traitor, you don't "hate the President" or any other such nonsense.

On a side note, the President needs pressure from the left. For the simple reason that it gives him political capital and reasoning to implement a center left agenda instead of a center right. If it wasn't for the pressure on the Left, than Senator Bayh would be proclaiming victory on the budget battle right now.

1. I agree - the actions we take (calls, emails, protests, etc.) give...
...the President the political muscle he needs to get things done.

I called Sen. Casey when I heard he was part of Bayh's "coal coalition" and told him I'd work my butt off to unseat him if he votes dirty coal over green energy. I must not have been alone ~ he did vote for the President's budget.

2. What about bring our military home? Not have them repeatedly sent to kill and die in two occupations
It's just WRONG. They need to come home NOW! :patriot:

3. I also want to see
Our military come home, but we also have to remember that Bush really screwed things up over there, and he left a big mess for president Obama to clean up. We don't even know how many innocent civilians have died in those two wars, but I am sure it's in the hundreds of thousands, not to mention those who have left the country or are in refugee camps. If Obama just pulls everyone out right now, how many more innocent people will die? I hate what has happened, but the president can't simply allow thousands more people who are innocent to die. The U.S. caused the problem, and we need to pull out in a reasonable way. I think that Obama will get more of our old allies back on our side, and that will help with the problems that we have caused in those two countries.

4. I have to agree. As a former soldier in the 1960's, I never wanted anyone
in Iraq in the first place. I can see a reason for Afghanistan, but I want that to be over now.
Unfortunately, I believe we have years to go before we will be out of either one thanks to Bush's sick egotism and criminal manipulation of public opinion.

6. We felt the same way about Vietnam. You can't "clean up" Tribal People, you can only KILL them.
Afghanistan is an occupation of a Narco-State. We won't clean up SQUAT. It will only get worse. :nuke:

EVERY DAMN DAY INNOCENT PEOPLE DIE when our drone fly into tribal areas of Pakistan to bomb villiages. What makes you think that ANY of these people would turn in Bin Laden if he's even alive?

We are CREATING more terrorists ever damn day we stay in either Iraq and Afghanistan.

After Vietnam, many of us said "Never Again."

No good will come out of continued occupations of either Afghanistan or Iraq.

We've already lost - it's TIME to go home with our dignity, unlike what we were forced to when pulling out of Vietnam. :(

5. I agree with you
However, it seems like somethimes the line gets blurred, and those people who originally disagreed on policy issues, jump on the "stupid shit" bandwagon.
