1. Usually, when you expect one thing out of them,
you get something else.

Don't doubt that they might trash our President.

firing Wagoner from GM. His message is that he's singling out which companies/brands' CEOs he's going to fire. :eyes:

And Bankers, even if new on the job, are Satans. See how easy that is?

8. Probably the worst SNL opening I've seen in a long while
Much as I didn't like some of the SNL openings attacking us during the election, at least those were funny, like the Biden/Murtha trying to blow the election one. This was just weak, if they can't make the president funny then they should do an opening about something else.

10. It was funny
I think some of you are missing the point. The chattering over on the wingnut side is that President Obama is "running" the country by running the businesses in the country. The opening skit turns that whole thing into an exaggeration to show just how foolish the idea is.

The GM board did not dismiss Wagoner, the President asked him to resign, and he did. There's a multi-million dollar pension to cushion the blow of a man who has no prospect of being hired anywhere anyway.

Watching "Obama" pick and choose which companies to "save" and which ones to "dump" with Fred Armisten doing the Obama impression that he's honed during the campaign season was funny! Even the fake website mentioned at the end took you to the SNL homepage, they thought everything out.

12. Agree with you 100%. And I got a laugh
from ASU in and U of A out. I doubt the rest of the country understood the reason though -- and it has nothing to do with basketball. :D

Especially those of us who don't give a hoot about the ASU/U of A rivalry.

21. I'll admit
like most SNL skits, it went on way too long after the punchline was made, but last night's show was pretty funny, overall. I liked the one about the comics characters trying to come together to find ideas to save their newspapers.

I'm just glad that President Obama has a tougher skin than some of his supporters.

11. This show ceased being funny decades ago
Each time I try to give it another chance, it makes a poor high school play look excellent in comparison.

24. It's good enough.
Perhaps the single biggest reason Palin is still in AK is because of Tina Fey and SNL.

20. They did a great job last fall
of punching through the mystique of Caribou Barbie, you've got to give them that.

Late night comedians are going to have fun with President Obama, he knew he signed up for that when he took the job. And I'm guessing he has enough of a sense of humor to find most of it funny. As long as we're not dealing with vicious baseless attacks, it might be good for us to reflect on why many people find this funny.

Remember the flap over the fist-bump New Yorker cover? This was pretty much the same thing. The American public likes to laugh at their leaders, its one of the thousands of differences we have from the people of North Korea that we treasure.

I noticed MadTV inserted t-mobile commercials in their skits too but lets face it times are getting ...tougher.

27. Armisen keeps getting worse
Does he write this shit himself, or did he hire someone from RimJob's digital trailer park to do it for him. It's all right wing partisan bullshit, and it ain't funny.

If there are any honest Republicans left in this country, they would have to admit that Will Ferrel's portrayal of the Chimp was funny. Darrell Hammond's Bill Clinton impersonation is still funny. Lorne Michaels could find a better "Obama" than this hack.
