Obama will give a major speech to Muslim country in June

According to Jeff Zeleny from the New York Times, he just said this on MSNBC: "One thing the President is trying to do with THIS trip and then again when he goes back to deliver a speech in a Muslim country as well, perhaps Egypt in June, the White House has not announced that yet, they're really trying to begin this new period of a new image, a new world leader from America addressing the world stage."

So, it will be a little later than his first 100 days but due to all the stuff he's had to deal with such as the economy, I think June is acceptable. :D

1. Well actually, if we are to be technical, no matter what Jeff Zeleny says.....

Obama gave a major speech to a Muslim country today.

There may be another one given in June, but to not count this one doesn't really make sense....as I'm sure the Turks would agree that they are indeed a majority Muslim country, and that today's speech by Obama was certainly major as far as they are concerned. To deny Turkey of claiming that this is what happened today would be foolish of us.

and the media seems to agree, too, that Obama's speech WAS major. They're all talking about how he reached out to the Muslim world and how they seem to really appreciate it. One reporter from al Jazeera said there was a newspaper in Turkey with the front page reading, "Bravo Obama" even BEFORE his speech. The reporter said he was very warmly welcomed and he is making it VERY tough for al Qaeda to recruit new members because he is reaching out like he is and, like Obama said, he lived in a Muslim country and he has family that IS Muslim.

I guess his NEXT major speech will be more general-not so specific to one country like much of his speech in Turkey was to Turkey.
