1. That is awesome. Excluding Bush/9-11 - what's the highest presidential approval rating?

12. Yup.
Here's the highest of each president since FDR:

Obama: 69%
Bush: 90%
Clinton: 73%
Bush I: 89%
Reagan: 68%
Carter: 75%
Ford: 74%
Nixon: 67% (which I found surprisingly low, since he wiped the floor with McGovern).
Johnson: 80%
Kennedy: 80%
Eisenhower: 79%
Truman: 87%
FDR: 84%

I don't know if Obama will ever be able to push his approval rating up into the 70s.

17. Reagan is the biggest myth in American political history.
The guy's approval ratings hovered around 50-55% for most of his presidency, proving he almost a 50-50 leader. Yet to hear the Republicans and many in the MSM, he was the most popular president in American history.

He only benefited from the fact he ran against Mondale in 1984. Had it been a competent Democrat, I think he very well would have lost that election.

3. of course
the headline was "Polls: Obama's overseas trip...lots of PR, little substance". I love how they find the most negative spin on things.

11. Yeah, it was pretty blatant.
I mean, Obama obviously didnt' get EVERYTHING accomplished, but "little substance, lots of PR". For poll results where most people approved of the overseas trip? Whatever, CNN.

14. CNN is really not MSM anymore any more than FoxNews is
I've been stunned at how aggressively they have moved obviously rightward. Competing with Fox I guess.

4. Bet Lou Dobbs won't mention that Poll
He likes to mention whenever Obama is under 60 in the Gallup tracking. And shuts up when it goes up. lol

5. Remember the old headlines: Bush attends summit - runs into people with bicycle.
And that was at a cloistered resort where he never had to get within miles of regular folk. Wow, I am still shaking that dust from my shoes!

CNN Poll: Obama approval remains high

April 6, 2009

Posted: 04:05 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) – As he wraps up a week-long trip abroad that drew positive headlines across Europe, President Barack Obama's approval rating remains high at home, according to a new CNN poll released Monday.

Obama draws a 66 percent approval rating in the latest CNN poll, a number that has remained statistically unchanged over the last month. That number is based on positive ratings from virtually all Democrats; two-thirds of Republicans disapprove of what the president has done in office so far.

"Polls indicate that Americans aren't blaming Obama yet for current economic conditions, so his rating remains robust despite the recession," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "In addition, a fairly successful overseas trip usually helps a president win over a few converts."

The poll, which surveyed 1,023 Americans, was conducted between April 3-5 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus three point
