Ed has Lars Larson on again
I can't watch The Ed Show.

Lars Larson = :puke:

I can take lots of different wingnuts.

I cannot abide Lars Larson on my television.

:(

The Ed Show is a repeat of his 6pm show but he's live just kind of introducing the segments.

9. E-mail to Ed Schultz
Dear Ed:

I tuned in at 5:00 in Los Angeles to watch "Countdown" and instead watched part of your show in Keith's absence. I kind of got through the "psycho" audio of Glen Beck. When Tom Tancredo came in, I decided that was as good a time as any to put the butternut squash in the oven for dinner. That man is so out of touch and one issue. Wasn't he the first person to drop out of the '08 primaries?
Isn't he about as irrelevant as you can get?

When I thought it was safe, I came back only to see Lars Larson and a Las Vegas talk show person on arguing with Al Sharpton. I couldn't take any more, Ed. Dinner became a much higher priority.

Ed, I truly wish you the best with your show, but PLEASE dispense with the bloviators. If I wanted to watch Faux Noise, I'd tune in that channel.

12. I sent an email after his first show
Told 'em I can't watch any more.

The only reason I started watching tonight was because he was in Keith's slot.

10. As I said last time he was on, I'm always skeptical of people with their first name in their last.
Lars Larson, John Johnston, Sam Samstone, etc.

13. I once knew a John Johncox.
Used to call him John-John. One of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Must've been an exception to the rule.

This isn't meant to make any claims in favor of Tommy Thompson, though.

16. Lars Larson's insanity is a campaign ad for more democrats in 2010.
It troubled me not to see him spew such IDIOCY. He's the best thing that could happen for our Party.

Go Big ED! I think he's doing great.

18. Yeah, but when do progressives get to make their case?
If you want to watch Lars Larson or Tom Tancredo, you can watch FAUX anytime you want.

But when do we get to hear people like Dennis Kucinich or Glenn Greenwald or Michael Moore or Sheldon Whitehouse as a regular guest on a national TV show?

WHY do we always seem to be REACTING to RW talking points and NEVER making any of our own?

Is it too much to ask?

23. Patience, with respect, dear "Grasshopper." Ed will filter in increasingly progressive guests.
I have faith given that I subscribe and avidly listen to his radio show. He's playing it smart in these "very early" days. :-)

26. I've been listening to his radio show, too
And it seems to me like MSNBC is trying to muzzle him. Not like he was ever a "dangerous firebrand" to begin with.

I heard his response to people like me who are concerned with the lack of progressives on his show. He said he wanted to provide "balance" and provide "all points of view". Fuck that.

We already get a one-sided "view" every day from cable news and AM hate radio.

It's high time true progressive media personalities get to decide their OWN agenda.

Sorry, but Ed ain't that kind of progressive.

17. Between him and that Heidi woman he had on earlier, I had no
choice but to cut it off. I don't want to hear right wing craziness in the evening. I really don't.

20. If you don't listen to these right wing crazies, then how in the hell can we counter their arguments
It's great entertainment if you can get past all the smarminess that is their aura.

Especially NOW, when their arguments are so damn sad and half-baked. Hell, countering them is sometimes not even good sport.

I agree with Ed, "We don't want an echo chamber."

Yes, I'm a proud Ed-Head. :patriot:

24. We should move beyond merely "countering their arguments"
And focus on creating our OWN arguments. God knows, we've been working on them for a long time.

It's about time we AIRED them.

25. Only speaking for myself. Another disadvantage to being
unemployed is hearing to much of the point/counter point stuff during the day. I need at least Keith, Rachel, and Ed to give me something different. Tonight was the first show I had to turn off. I'm not done with him completely but tonight was over the top! Whew!

19. There is no end to great guests
that Ed could have on. Glen Greenwald, Thom Hartman, David Sirota, Arianna, Matt Taibibi, etc. All these idiots he had on tonight except for Chris Dodd, belong on Faux. I've got this policeman acquaintance who voted for Obama and NO on Prop 8, but is still a pretty rabid Republican. He watches Faux. Ed might make some inroads with people like him, but these scream fests are too much.
While I'm at it, Barnacle is terrible, too. He always loses control.
