If I Wanted To Contribute To Promote Obama's Agenda, Is Organizing For America The Right Recipient?
Lets say I support Obama's plans to reform heathcare, reform military spending, promote energy independence, and educational reform. Who shouid I contribute to?

I would prefer not to contribute to the DNC given the presence of folks like Evan Bayh. Is Organizing for America the entity that I can contribute to? Or, is it Democracy for America or Moveon.org?

Organizing for America:

Democracy for America:

Move On:

DNC:

1. This is a great question
I just gave some money to OFA, but you are right I'm not really too keen on giving money to the DNC right now thanks to the "moderates" in congress.

4. That's What I'm Wondering - Is Organizing For America Separate From The DNC?
I see two separate links, but are donations kept separate?

16. Nope
If you give to OFA you are giving to the DNC. OFA is the name for the Fifty State Strategy right now.

Trust me I have friends that are part of the party and I've had to explain this to every OFA group in the Lehigh Valley.

7. Those both have there own agendas, not necesarrily Obama's
This is NOT to criticize them. There are times when they will follow Obama's agenda and other times when they will be for things that are not part of his agenda or against things in a way that Obama isn't.

Because Dr. Dean has a proven track record of doing what's right for this party and this country.

6. Full Disclosure on OFA
OFA is part of the Democratic National Committee it is a project of the DNC. Barack Obama is the head of the democratic party.

OFA is the field program of the DNC. It will be used to lobby on issues that come before congress in 2009 and will most likely be used to support democratic congressional candidates in 2010.

8. Organizing for America is meant to be the Obama
organization - it is led by Pouffle. I don't think it commingles funds with the DNC but it may - as various leadership PACS (like Kerry's ) give money to the DNC, DCCC, and DSCC.

11. So, OFA Funds Can Be Used To Oppose OFA's Agenda? Link?
I am also reluctant to contribute to moveon and DFA, because they could potentially oppose the Obama on healthcare, education and energy, as well. Doesn't Obama still have his own campaign contribution fund that is separate from the DNC?

do make contributions to the DNC etc.

17. He is the head of the party, as he was during the election
Just as the Obama for President campaign in the GE was not the DNC, OFA is not the DNC.

18. OFA IS THE DNC

Look at any email you get from OFA

OFA is a project of the DNC. All OFA employees are DNC employees.

Trust me I'm chair for my county of OFA I know how this works.

The person who is the head of OFA works in the DNC building in DC.

Why do people deny the obvious. Look at the emails you get. Look at the disclosures. There it is in plain English.

19. I apologize if I sound angry
However I had to sit with a room full of volunteers from the campaign and explain this to them last week. 3 people in the room refused to believe me and call me a liar even though I was sitting with my state DNC person who was explaining it to them as well.

OFA is the Field Program for the DNC. It is in reality 50 state strategy 2.0

21. Thanks -
One suggestion is that they need to make this clearer. You clearly have far more knowledge than I do on this. There is something to be said for it being independent or not - but given that they are NOT independent they should say so.

20. DNC takes marching orders from the White House
Tim Kaine is the figurehead of the DNC but David Axelrod is really calling the shots. If you're worried about conservadems don't give to the DSCC or the DCCC.
