Let's hope Dodd will get behind it, as Chairman of the Banking Committee. It would be immensely helpful for him to stand with the American people against credit card companies, particularly after his recent problems with the AIG bonuses and his Countrywide loan brouhaha (which I do not think amount to much).

Interview with Senator Chris Dodd begins about 3:45 into the tape. The discussion of the Sanders/Durbin credit card interest rate usury bill begins t about 7:00 minutes into the tape.

2. The audacity of taking taxpayer money and turning around and screwing their own customers
is beyond the pale. Dodd was a bit squishy on whether or not this would be retroactive; I hope so.

3. We must make it very uncomfortable for him to remain squishy on retroactivity.
