Poll question: The big banks under President Obama / Secretary Geithner
In your honest opinion, are the big banks (Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and US Bank) ok?

We have heard a lot of speculation in the past weeks regarding earnings at the big banks in the United States. What do YOU think?

1. Three of them are solvent, although the commercial real estate overhang hasn't hit
us yet in a big way. JPMorgan is very exposed to commercial real estate even while they escaped the residential nightmare. Jamie Dimon may yet be dragged down the whirlpool.

2. These are the kind of speculation that are best left to those
who actually have real factual information.

It's not about a "feeling", IMO.

Thursday, Wells Fargo shocked the market with earnings #s that would make Krugman blush.

Do we believe them?

5. I don't think they can just get away with nonsense at this point.
Too risky.

But hell, they got mucho money, so I guess they got enough to show a profit.

6. You can't lump them all together. Citi and Bof A are having
big problems. JPMorgan is doing okay, and Wells Fargo is doing even better.
