Obama personally rescued the hostage.
I saw it on Tv. He had a bandolier strapped to his chest as he descended from a helicopter. The pirates were frozen in a combination of awe, respect, and pissing themselves. The Obama-inator wasted no time in pumping the pirates full of hot lead. The last pirate tried to attack him, but Obama was ready for it, and decapitated him with a karate chop.
Then he straightened his tie (yes, he's so awesome he did all of this in a suit), winked at the captain and said, 'Drinks on me.'

If this is really how you see things, then we are in worse shape then I thought we were. Is there anything that is out of bounds in your crusade to crush the political Left?

I miss the good old days when only the extreme right wing accused us of hating America.

27. I didn't and I don't
I didn't call you a troll and I don't "slam the newly minted democratic president with every other breath."

I do disagree with many of the things the administration is doing, and I do object to the bullying here by people under the guise of "supporting" the newly minted democratic president.

are clearly bullies while the dissenters are merely the voice of reason.

45. not necessarily
Edited on Mon Apr-13-09 05:53 PM by Two Americas
Again, I didn't say that.

However, I would say that many who claim to be "choosing to support the president" - whatever that means - relate everything to Obama, how it may affect his career, and others do not. So the two sides are not even arguing about the same thing.

I do not think that people are "choosing to support the president," in any case. That is cover for something else. "Choosing to use - misuse - the president in order to beat up on those who disagree with them" would be more like it.

Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 09:43 PM by acmavm
they are trained to operate flawlessly and bravely. And they had a worthy ally in the man they had to rescue. He was pretty smart and brave himself.

Obama didn't personally rescue the guy, but that doesn't matters to me. I think he should be allowed to wear these victories proudly as CIC, because he'll surely get his ass tarred and feathered for the losses, if/when we have them.

51. I was with you up until the underwear.
And honestly, I never saw as much criticism for the troops here as you say. I've seen plenty leveled at Rumsfeld, et. al. and the self-serving and destructive war they fomented. There are several members of the military who post here, and we respect their service and the service of all our men and women.

The rest of it, we will have to wait and see. Some people are still doing a victory lap, and this was meant to be more of a satirical thread to have fun in. I'm sorry you are eaten to the core. Not a fun feeling I know.
