Members of Maersk Alabama celebrate with a U.S. flag after hearing news that their captain is free, at the Kenyan coastal sea port of Mombasa, 500 km (311 miles) from Nairobi April 12, 2009. U.S. naval forces rescued cargo ship captain Richard Phillips from captivity at the hands of Somali pirates in a dramatic ending to a five-day standoff, the U.S. Navy said on Sunday.

Richard Phillips' crew, who said they escaped after he offered himself to the pirates as a hostage, erupted in cheers abroad their ship docked in Mombasa, Kenya, waving an American flag and firing a flare in celebration upon hearing that Phillips had been freed.

7. Bush would have played it up for dramatic effect
and either pushed the pirates to take drastic action or failed (in some unforeseeable way) and then play THAT up for dramatic effect--basically take credit for failing

8. Bush would have landed in a flight suit and codpiece
and the pirates would have fled laughing -- probably taking the hostage with them.

18. Are we supposed to be impressed by that?
I can do that with my mountain bike, too. It's at least a dozen years older than Shitboy's, so it's not made of the fancy, light-weight alloys. Yep, I can lift my heavier bike up with one arm. And, I'm a girl with very little upper body strength. Whoopee. Not impressed.

And from the expression on his face, I think he impressed himself with that!

23. Isn't it just to die for?
I own a pair of Crocs -- love 'em -- but I don't wear them past the end of our driveway and couldn't imagine pairing them with shorts and ankle-length socks (hell, I don't even have any presidential-seal ankle-length socks). They're my studio shoes: easy on the wood floors in my studio, comfy on my feet, and they clean up easily when I splatter them with paint and/or gesso. But if I'm ever photographed in them: shoot me on sight.

My garish Crocs:

To see a president come out of the WH dressed like that is an embarrassment.

26. Give it up - there is no chance that HRC will challenge the President she reports to in 2012
Therefore it really doesn't matter whether Clinton polls better versus Romney, who may not even be the nominee. Obama's approval is about 60% plus. He is in no danger from the Republicans and he is in no danger of a Democratic challenge.

33. Hillary would have never challenged Obama in 2012
even if she had remained a senator. It's not her style.

Although, to be fair, any president would have given the same orders and taken the consequences if it failed.
