I pissed off a Republican, the other day.
He was talking about he noticed his paycheck had more money on it. And he did not know why.
I said it was the tax break Obama signed into law. He said no way. Obama was raising taxes. I said on the top 2% of Americans who make over a certain amount. Showed him the legislation he was surprised. I asked him, "So did you vote for McCain?"
He said "yeah"

I said " you're welcome."

Oh he was SO Pissed.

5. They don't learn.
They have it on Faux News at the front counter area. I have to go outside, so I don't sound like a blathering idiot. I get off work at 4 PM and they have Glenn Beck at that time. I grumble under my breath, while I wait for my wife to show up.

7. I am firmly convinced 89% of Republican voting Americans
never finished 8th grade, OR, have a very low tolerance for factual material.

The other 11% are too rich and fearful of being overtaxed.

10. Remember that kid that would argue with the teacher
In a completely nonsensical manner because they were frustrated they didn't understand the complexity of the subject being taught?

They all grow up to vote Republican. Reality pisses them off and confuses them, so they find an ideology that enables them to block it all out. Isn't that the whole Ayn Rand Objectivism deal?

34. I am really trying to wrap my brain around the whopping level of cognitive dissonance...
required to hold on to staggeringly high number of erroneous facts just to entrench oneself into a political camp intent on shoving a hot poker up one's nether regions.

I'm failing obviously.

9. A Repub friend of mine came up TO ME .....
.... and said she got "Obama's old tax cut" in her check so at least she had something to thank him for. She's a WONDERFUL woman, just a bit misguided in her politics. Thought that Palin woman was the Second Coming ... of either Christ or Reagan, I'm not sure which.

Another GOP friend of mine admitted that the President was "Cute" and it didn't bother her for me to post photos of him on the message board we frequent. This was a change from "Obama is the anti-Christ" which seemed to be her opinion of him before the election.

Baby steps people ..... he's worming his way in to their dark little hearts. lol

11. I said to a right-winger that since she was so anti-Obama...
...I would be happy to know she wouldnt be partaking in any programs that President Obama passed that could potentially benefit her. She guaranteed me she wouldn't.

Then I went to her real estate website where she announces "First Time Home Buyers! Ask Me How You Can Take Advantage of the $8,000 Tax Incentive!"

Ummmm...

14. This is the typical compartmentalized mind of the right wingers. I also
wonder why so many Real Estate agents are Republicans. Well, the ones around me are, anyway. One has his car still adorned with a "W04" bumber sticker. These people are hurting, and get a break from Obama, and still think W was wonderful.

25. Nice!
Something I read today about the Obama tax credit on my local right-wing news rag message board is "Let’s just start at the infamous $13.00 a week "tax break". Please read the information carefully; you may get to keep the extra $13.00 a week BUT you are still taxed at the SAME rate at the end of the year. Let me repeat that, there is NO change, you are still taxed at the same rate on the same tax tables as before! Even this LITTLE attempt at a "tax break" is a fallacy."

I asked for a link. Still waiting.

Ugh...you just can't win with these people.

26. I had a right-wing coworker trying to explain to me
how for "some people" the extra $13.00 a week had pushed them into a higher tax bracket and caused them to have to pay thousands of dollars more in taxes overall.

I didn't even know where to begin explaining things, or why I should even bother...
