Taxes haven't changed at all yet. Tax day 2009 is no different from 2008. So they're basically revolting against George W. Bush's tax system. It has nothing to do with Obama yet that's what they've made it about.

They would have a much better case to make if they were protesting spending.. They'd still look idiotic, but a little less idiotic than they do now. But I guess it doesn't have a catchy historical event/dirty innuendo.

1. Why aren't they protesting $1 trillion spent on illegally occupying Iraq?

2. This is a protest against Obama and democrats, imo.
Its one big temper tantrum because they didn't get their way and they are throwing a huge hissy fit.

4. This isn't about taxes, spending, or bailouts. This is racism and HATE
If this was about spending, where were the protest with Bush? If it was about the bailouts, they were started under Bush. How can it be about taxes when Obama just signed the largest middle class tax cut in history??

They can try to sprinkle in Pelosi, Reid, and Barney on a few of their posters all they want. But this is about the man in the WH. They just can't get over the fact that we have an African American President. Thats the bottom line.

Its clear when they are interviewed and none of them has a coherent thought. How can a politician be a Facist, Liberal, Communist, Socialist, and Marxist all at the same time?? Just go ahead and tell us the real reason? These were nothing but more McCain/Palin rallies.

5. Look at all the racist "art" on the signs around the country...it's
fear and anger because the GOP lost and Obama, the Foreign Black Muslim Communist Satan is really president. They can't deal with any of that - they thought McCain was a Democrat diusguised as a Republican. He had to have Palin on the ticket so they would vote for him. They are the Republican Right, soon to be looking for another party because the GOP isn't "conservative" enough for them....

6. They are (were).

There were plenty of anti-bailout and anti-spending signs. There seems to be a plethora of things they were protesting. No one seemed to have single theme but the bailouts and spending were addressed along with the anti-tax sentiment. Of course, the entire thing was absurd.

7. I guess like every protest ever seen, there are a mishmash of issues represented
i think if you put 10 people in a protest you will get 20 different things they are protesting for or against.
