Blame the Black man
1.Economy has been sinking for eight years, but when a Black man gets the job three months ago its his fault.

2.Why have tea bag parties when a Black man is President and not when white men have been running the country for centuries?

3.Black man pulls himself by his bootstraps and did everything he was suppose to do and he is an elitist and his intelligent, beautiful classy BLACK wife is called a terrorist and TRASH.

4.He release torture memos to show transparency, but people are angry about him for not going after the torturers.

*An other point about the torturers. I remember gitmo and the photos and everyone said bush should go after the higher ups (officers) and not scapegoat the soldiers.

A Black man has the WORST JOB in the world. SHIT IS FUCKED UP and it is coming at him from all sides and up and down and he has only been in office THREE FUCKING MONTHS!!! THREE FUCKING MONTHS!!!

Edited on Thu Apr-16-09 09:32 PM by glowing
He's like us. He had to work and know that your parents say no. Money isn't grown on trees. Be kind. He studied and taught Constitutional Law. He knows better. I don't care about republicans or wingnuts hangup over teh black man.. I hold him to a higher standard because he told us to. AND for the last 8 yrs I haven't been silent.. just too many Americans are still apethetic and sheep.. they didn't stand up in time to stop the pain they are now feeling. Unfortunately, the job losses and homelessness has increased dramatically in the last couple of months. If you lose everything, its much harder to re-build it all over again.. especially with a shitty credit score.

You know absolutely nothing of what he knows, yet you sit on your righteous horse. Listen to yourself. It's only been three fucking months for chrissakes. Yet you, you, and only you, know better what to do than he does.

You say he told you to hope, but you're doing a piss poor job of it.

60. Sometimes you must pull him out of what he knows into what is right.
its been wrong for so long. Everything we are taught, everything that happens, everything that we are supposed to believe about this country and this world is based on lies. taking baby steps isn't going to help. Sometimes you just have to do.. make it right.. stop living insane lies. it drives me crazy to have to continue pretending that going to work makes a difference in anyone's lives... running like ants to live, to eat, to enjoy life.. its all such a farce. it makes me want to scream that we all have to continue pretending any of the polite politics makes any sense to anyone.

20. This too, shall pass--until the next outrage.
I have never, in all my 64 years, ever trusted a pol, as I trust President Obama. He has proven himself time and again, to me. He is only a man, but a very, very smart one, who is always several steps ahead of just about everybody.

Patience doesn't seem to be the strong suit of KO, or some here on DU.

I plan to give our President (of only 3 months) plenty of time to right the ship, as he has inherited just about the worst mess in history on so many fronts.

Patience. It appears that Barack has it in abundance. He is also working harder, and tackling more all at once, than any President I have seen in my lifetime.

We are damn lucky to have him as our President.

28. I don't know if it is about race but it is clear that for whatever reason
Obama is held to the highest standard in history by some. Others may well have done less and be considered great but somehow he will be a failure if he doesn't exceed his predecessors in most areas. In some cases failure equals not reinventing the wheel to fit an ideal.

If Obama were to get just barely passing grades from many of his critics here, he'd still grade out head and shoulders above any before him. Hell, if he didn't do a single thing more he'd already be in the top half as far as impact. Seems to me Obama has been as busy as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. So far we have one that is well above average.

34. Well, there's fault and there's responsibility.
Obama volunteered for the latter, though as a senator he only earned a share in the former.

Bush's fuck-ups have become nation-threatening crises, however, so the current president doesn't get nearly as much slack as his predecessor, who reigned in a time of alleged stability. Yes, Obama has inherited what should have been the worst job in the world all along--and only now have we decided to make it so.

The American people who let Bush nap while his cronies pillaged have begun to wake up, only to find out that the getaway car has long since departed.

46. I support your general post.
Despite the outcry of some that this is "race-baiting", it is not.

To say that it isn't a factor to some degree (meaning that not EVERYONE is a racist), is naive.

Yes, even on DU there may actually (GASP!) be some with less than perfect attitudes when it comes to being color-blind. It may not be you, the reader of this post, personally, but I'd bet some are out there.

It's not about whether any Democrat would be opposed; it's in part the DEGREE of the level of vitriol and hate directed at the Obamas.

Do you expect people to admit it? Of course not - unless they're a proud member of the KKK or Neo-Nazis, they keep it under wraps.

But it's subtle and simple; some people simply don't want to be under the command of a black man. To wit, the recent story of an enlisted man who didn't want to serve for exactly this reason.

Don't forget the point made above about secession. Why NOW, Texas?

I'd put up good money that the Secret Service has seen an unprecedented uptick in the number and the viciousness of threats against this president.

I'm in a suburb of Los Angeles and I think it's fair to say that racism is dead here...

"Classism maybe... but not racism. If you're the black Doctor in the gated community, you're part of the club."

I think middle-upper class white folk are more intimidated by "scary looking inner city folk (of any color)" than by a black man/family.

55. I think it depends on what it relates to...
Some think they aren't but it is deeply embedded and surfaces in certain situations and they may not even realize it themselves. I think that some don't like to deal with some black people unless absolutely necessary because they fear that some black person may call them a racist at some point. Some are so afraid that they don't even look at a black person as equal to them.

Some use sterotypes but everyone is different no matter what the race people are people. I think that a person relates to who they are associated, with and if they don't take the time to know others they will sterotype a certain race with whatever they learn through their environment and the media.

I think that some are having a hard time adjusting to a black man as President, and its hitting them really, really hard.

Donate a little more, and get the t-shirt and an EIB hat. Donate a lot and get a black EIB polo shirt, he said that a lot of thought went into the color of this year's polo shirt. They made it black because of Obama's economy. I thought that an economy in the black would be a good economy. Could there be some "other" meaning behind it? And then he went on a rant about Jeans and t-shirts. I'm disinfecting my poor ears now.
