Riddle Me This: How Do You Protest on the Fourth of July?
I mean really, what could be the possible theme here? Independence? Secession?

:wtf:

Idiots. Keep kicking themselves in the teabags.

And then they will claim everyone was there to protest.

6. But to claim victory, they will have to distinguish themselves
in some way. What do you think they will wear? They can't just wear the regular red white and blue.

Idiots. I still can't wrap my mind around this one.

10. You miss the point
They do not want to be distinguished. The point is that since no one will come to their little pity parties, they will go out and pretend everyone out for the 4th is a supporter.

11. But that won't work. Who's going to fall for that bullshit?
They'll be laughed out of town. They need a purple finger or something. They already used tea bags. Or maybe they will re-cycle the "million bags" they couldn't unload in D.C. lol

12. Fox news.
Thinking things through is verifiably not in the top priorities of the people we are talking about here.

13. LOL You're right. That's why I think they thought of this
Fourth of July thing while they were spending so much money advertising the tea parties. They really though these tea parties would be huge. Remember, they keep saying 52 million americans voted the other way. I think they expected big turnout. In their giddyness, they thought up the 4th of July before the Tea Party was actually held.

They definitely don't think things through. You can't beat Obama if you don't think things through. That should be very clear by now, but they continually do things that backfire.

16. The thing thats messing with me is that
Obama should be fairly easy to foil. He keeps telling everyone exactly what he will do, and then doing it. Apparently thats throwing a whole lot of people for a loop.

5. I think they thought this up while they were in their
ecstacy of expecting major turn-out for their tea party. I think they thought the whole country was going to follow them in seceding from Obama. LOL The tea party was like yelling "charge!" and then looking behind you and seeing no army.

14. That will be a really bad move for them....

Independence Day is about celebrating, not protesting, and I think they'll find that even event-goers who are sympathetic to them recognize that.

It's my favorite holiday bar none, and I wouldn't want to see people I agree with trying to hi-jack an event with a divisive political message.

but when kids were young, we'd go together, 4 + friend/s of theirs; kids are away from DC, so I've no 'group' to go with. MAYBE, if weather is very good, I'll just go.

28. The local American Legion and VFW thought they "owned" the parade, but the VFP gets to march...
... anyway. Vets and Associates in the VFP have managed to get a spot in the lineup for several years now -- and that's certainly one way to protest on the Fourth of July.

I know that wasn't the intent of your question, but *we've* been the protesters for 8 years now and have had to be creative.

Hekate

29. Do you want to pay taxes so the bankers can loot our treasury?
Edited on Mon Apr-20-09 02:07 AM by Fireweed247
The ron paul people are protesting the recent bailouts. We should be joining them not laughing at them.

Our Representatives and Senators admitted that their phone calls were 100% against the bailout. They ignored US. This is the one issue on which we are united. They just looted the American people, your children and grandchildren will be paying just the interest on this forever!

Are we so stuck on our side that we cannot see the bigger picture? Is making fun of people more important than stopping the greedy bastards giving away money to the already super rich?

A tiny portion of the bailout money would have been sufficient to provide universal health care to all Americans, stopping 100,000 deaths per year. When is enough enough for you all?

We are supposed to be better than them. They could never join our protests because they are too close minded and stuck in their ways to see the bigger picture. Now is our chance to rise above, to transcend party politics and unite before it is too late. We are the smarter people? WE are the better party? WE care about the what is really going on in this country, not just promoting our party?

30. Ok fine. Go ahead. Protest on the Fourth of July like you've never
done before. Obviously Obama is much worse than Bush. Much much worse.

And it's wrong of you to impugn people with this party first shit. There are some of us who think it's a good idea to spend the money now. You can disagree with that all you like, but it's not a basis for you to make the claim that it's party first.

Is there something special about the 4th of July that you guys want to protest for? Why not any other date?

33. Tens of thousands demonstrated in Washington, D.C. on July 4, 1976

Thousands of Americans rallied in Washington, DC during the nation’s 200th anniversary on July 4, 1976. The People’s Bicentennial organized and educated around issues like the growing power of multinational corporations and governmental corruption in the post-Watergate era.

And you can view ABC-TV network coverage of bi-centennial activities. A report on the People's Bicentennial begins at about 5:07 in the youtube video.
