When I criticized Lula for using unfortunate and yes, racist language about "blond blue eyed bankers" while making it crystal clear that I understood what he was getting at and made clear that I admire Lula, I was jumped all over by the uncritical admiration crew. Any cursory glimpse at any thread about Chavez will show you that both Chavez haters and Chavez adorers exist.
