Chip Reid from CBS really is an asshole
He consistently asks the most leading and obtuse questions. He just asked Robert Gibbs about the budget cabinet cuts, saying over and over again that 100 million dollars is a very tiny amount of money to cut, and saying "Aren't you just confirming to the critics the theme that the sky is the limit with this spending? That it's just UP AND UP AND UP AND UP!?" Oh, screw you. Again, it's not the question, but the framing of the question from Reid that always bothers me.

And on another note, this is definitely not Gibbs' best day. Ed Henry and Jake Tapper actually asked good questions for once (sort of) about the State Secrets case, and prosecution of Bush officials, and Gibbs really didn't have an answer. He repeated the same "We have to move forward" thing, while looking uncomfortable, and I'm sorry.....if this is the route that they are going to take, they really need to provide him with better talking points than that. That line is getting insulting. And Gibbs didn't know anything about the State Secrets case, or about the Gitmo detainee who had called outside and said that the beatings have gotten worse. They need to get him up to speed, and he needs to have a better explaination than the "we have banned these techniques", because it really avoids the question.

1. He's a prick. He was so offended by Gibbs taking a jab at Cheney
That tells you all you need to know.

The funny thing about the WH corps is Fox actually has the best one. Major Garrett doesn't try to be a smart ass or ask stupid questions

4. another false premise
of his question that I forgot was that he started with "The White House usually seems pretty in tune with what the public thinks, but this is just a portion of A ROD'S SALARY!" or something stupid.

2. There aren't really any talking points to justify what seems to be the Administration's position

It's nothing less than shameful and inconsistent with previous statements that have been made about accountability and the rule of law.

I sure wouldn't want to be Gibbs under the circumstances. Not really much that he can say other than, I'm sorry your were misled about what our position was.

that I don't really get, is that the question asks specifically about BUSH officials, but Gibbs' first part of the answer repeated the line about people who did these tactics "in good faith" from the justice department that they were legal. And Ed Henry repeated that that wasn't the questions, and Gibbs said again that Obama has banned these techniques, and Ed Henry asked AGAIN about Bush officials. Gibbs repeated the line about moving forward. I wish they would just give a straight answer. Waffling on it is just giving me false hope about the Newsweek article about Holder thinking about seeking outside counsil, but I don't know how to interpret it as just Gibbs not having any good answer to give or not being able to say more. Unfortunately, I'm thinking it's the former.

6. We could contact the White House
and give our opinion about the tiresome response Gibbs is giving about "moving forward" ..or anything else we want to comment on.

7. Gibbs
your answer should be;

The American people are focus on how they going to feed their family, how can they get a job,
how they can keep th job thy have and also how they can stay healthy and you're focus on
following up on torture which is something for the DOJ, will work every time.

My 10cents...but Gibbs knows better than me anyways...so no qualms from me.

He is making a difficult job look easy.
